Fairphone 5, booting a microSD card works not.
I followed https://wiki.postmarketos.org/wiki/Fairphone_5_(fairphone-fp5)#Manual_install "SD memory card", with https://images.postmarketos.org/bpo/v26.06/fairphone-fp5/plasma-mobile/20260619-0151/ : "Waiting for root partition" then it lands on a CLI.
In general, except the Pinephone & Pro, booting a microSD card worked?
Having trouble with OnePlus5T wifi drivers
I am trying to get my OnePlus 5T to work as a headless server to host AdGuardHome, a static site, and a couple of other small stuff. However, I am having a lot of trouble with establishing a stable internet connection because I seem to lose the wireless wlan0 interface completely after reboot.
Basic details
- Device: OnePlus5T (codename: dumpling)
- Method of flashing: pmbootstrap (version: 3.10.1) on a Linux machine.
- PostmarketOS kernel used: linux-postmarketos-qcom-msm8998
- Repositories used: 25.12 (mainline)
- Init system: OpenRC
- WiFi backend: wpa_supplicant (default)
- GUI: Console (no keyboard)
Problem faced
I ssh into the device with USB and give wireless connection successfully with nmcli as shown here (https://wiki.postmarketos.org/wiki/Using_a_phone_as_a_server). After a set a static IP (with nmcli modify), installing AdGuardHome, etc. everything works for a while. Then when I reboot the phone (or keep it off for more than 2 h and start), I seem to completely lose the wlan0 interface.
Diagnoses
-
I tried
ip aand found thewlan0completely missing. -
I tested to see if the drivers were indeed present:

- I tried to look at the logs with

- I tried
cat /sys/devices/platform/soc/18800000.wifi/power/runtime_status
and got the output: unsupported.
I tried
sudo nmcli con up MyHomeWifi
Request
- Help get the wifi drivers working properly
- I have a “Portronics” USB-to-Ethernet adapter, but it seems the OS doesn’t recognise that either. So using it as an alternate route for internet is not possible. Please help with that as well (or alternatively) if possible.
Can postmarketOS use 2 kernels?
Can some functionalities for os be passed to second kernel?
For example there could be docker or some other VM with Halium kernel to use some apps for example WiFi, camera and SIM calling?
Example can be qubesos which uses separate VM to do networking and other functions.
Pinephone - power source switching glitches (not postmarketOS specific)
Hi all, I'm after any ideas or recommendations to triage/solve a likely hardware or firmware issue.
I'm having some very odd power-related glitches with the operation of one of my two Pinephones. I suspect it's unrelated to pmOS specifically, because both phones run pmOS v25.12 (via pmbootstrap) and the other Pinephone is working as expected.
Symptoms:
- on power state change (connect or disconnect a live usb-c power cable) the phone will either try to switch on if off (as expected), or switch off if on (definitely unexpected)
- same as above, but happens when keyboard case is installed and power cable added to keyboard (so it's not just the phone's usb-c connector)
- same as above, but happens when power delivery from keyboard is turned on or off via the button on the right hand side of the keyboard case
Major things done:
- tested with jumpdrive on sdcard with no batteries connected - works perfectly
- tested with known good internal battery, keyboard case battery alone, or both (same result regardless)
- reinstalled os image, no change
- reflashed anx7688 firmware per latest in megi's tree, no change
Any ideas or recommendations? Any input is much appreciated, thank you in advance.
Locking the bootloader
I've been looking through the documentation and installation guides for PostmarketOS, and I've noticed there seems to be no mention of locking the bootloader after flashing.
Is that because there's no issue with doing so, or because you can't?
I'm looking at installing on a Fairphone 5, but anyone with any device that's able to share their experience would be appreciated.
