This HAS to be satire
These don’t exist in my country but when I had traveled I pressed these all the time? I hope that country is doing okay.

FBI says it's now seized "multiple" ROM piracy sites, claims downloads resulted in $170m losses in just three months
So now the company will have ~100m extra revenue in the next 3 months? Right? Right?

Toyota Developing A Console-Grade, Open-Source Game Engine - Using Flutter & Dart
Idk why they are calling it console grade when their focus is largely on in vehicle displays. It’s more like threejs than unreal.
They were going with Flutter to leverage its rich UI toolkit and for "building stunning interactive experiences."

And trusting restaurants. It says vegan on menu, you check with them and they say it’s vegan, you wait for your order, and there’s cheese on it.

I can say 90% of PRs in my company clearly look or declared to be AI generated because of how random things that still slip by in the commits, so maybe he's not wrong. In fact people are looked down upon if they aren't using AI and are celebrated for figuring out how to effectively make AI do the job right. But I can't say if that's the case for other companies.

Weekly Recommendations Thread: What are you playing this week?
Playing Witcher 3 lately for the first time. Coming from already playing games like Kingdom Come Deliverance, Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, and modern God of War games, it’s interesting to see how Witcher 3 retains its original flavour and yet its formula has been taken into various extremes by other games. I love the realism and interesting story lines of KCD, and the mindless addictive loop of AC Odyssey full of fantastical myths and moral choices, and the emotional depth of God of War. Overall I weirdly feel KCD took the best lessons and created something really unique.
I don’t know if it’s fair to compare these games like this, but yeah, I get these comparisons in my mind.
Speaking of Witcher 3, it took me three tries to actually get into it, the game is quite a lot when you start it, especially not having played first two. But once I did, it was really fun. I was torn at every moral choice, and a bit burnt out eventually. I don’t love difficult choices with consequences in games as in real life, but it’s good to confront that anyway. A lot of the quests are memorable for that reason.
Overall, enjoying it a lot. I’m sure people in 2015 must have their minds blown by this game back then.

New Rumored Xbox Game Pass Tier Includes Only First Party Games
Enshitification was when they hiked prices and claimed it was more value. This actually seems okay for the largest publisher on planet to have their own sub, like Ubisoft, EA, Rockstar. Though I wonder do they really have that good games? I use gamepass more for third party lineup than first party.

Just finished Silent Hill 2 Remake. Really enjoyed it. Time slowed down as I played it, the game isn’t that scary coming from games like RE7, but the atmosphere and the trauma stories are really something. Medium from Bloober was similar in that way. The gameplay was fun too, never overstayed its welcome.
I feel they did creepy rooms and underworld better than Alan Wake 2 did it. Not sure if it’s fair to compare them, but parts of it made me feel how AW2 didn’t go far enough in some of its sequences.
UE5 sucks though. Lots of noisy and shimmery graphics and fps at times dips to literal slideshow on PS5.

People are still pasting stuff? I thought by now agentic coding or AI in editors would be a norm.
