Trying out these apps is actually fun. Takes me back to the days I was searching for the perfect Reddit app
Crazy to see how quickly a handful of talented developers have managed to build several feature-rich Lemmy apps in such a short amount of time. Really drives home the point that the reddit's official app—with it's 80 person dev team—must just suck on purpose.

We should start calling u/spez by his real name. Because most people won’t know who he is if he shows up somewhere else in future.
Huffman is just an empty suit. His purpose is to take the flak for all the unpopular changes that the money people want him to make.
He'll probably be gone within 2 years, get a nice payday, and never have to work again.
Focusing your ire on Huffman specifically plays right into Reddit's hands. And spamming "fuck u/spez" everywhere just makes those of us who oppose the direction that Reddit has taken look like petulant children to neutral observers.

Call to action - renewed protests starting on July 1st
If you care at all about good user experience, I think it's just time to move on from Reddit. It will only get worse from here.

Reddit's crappy app has code for a "get money for your karma" program
I guess they just really don't understand why reddit was worth visiting in the first place.

OceanGate co-founder wants to send 1,000 people to a floating colony on Venus by 2050
it's not the onion, but it is the post—which should be treated with equal seriousness as the onion.

Crazy how firmly Ferrari have established themselves as the perpetual butt of the joke.

Why is the New York Times glorifying the career of lifelong charlatan Uri Geller?
This article was so strange. Basically, "Sure he's a fraud—but the important thing is that he really gets the people going."

You can usually tell it's fake when the characters feel engineered to generate maximum outrage or sympathy.
It's possible you replied, but I only ever saw these posts when they would get enough traction to appear in r/all—so usually my comments came pretty late and never got more than a handful of votes. The few times OP did reply it was nonspecific stuff like "Fine, don't believe me."
I'd check but all my reddit comments are gone now.

This article is such garbage clickbait, but of course the Lemmy audience eats it up because it validates their anti-facebook circlejerk.

It seems like a more extreme version of the weird elitism around social media that was always present on Reddit.

iPhone 15 is coming, and these features will be worth the wait

I switched to an iPhone after years on Android specifically because of the iPhone Mini. Really wish they would bring it back as there are so few options for a smaller phone that isn't handicapped by a "budget" feature-set.

He's a founder who already cashed out years ago—before being brought back to give the money people a credible figurehead.

Netflix Gains Six Million Subscribers After Password Sharing Crackdown
I'm sure it has been a profitable move in the short term, but I think password sharing was what enabled Netflix shows to have a more significant cultural impact than shows on other streaming services—despite the relatively poor quality of Netflix's programming.

People who use Twitter have been desperate for an alternative. Surprised it took one of the big corps this long to throw their hat in the ring, tbh.

Better to be second fiddle in the clearly dominant car. That wasn't the situation when he left.
