The fact that the girlfriend doesn't want to tell her family is kind of a hint that they won't be happy about the relationship. So being upset is kind of the best outcome in this situation.

It's nice that you and also I have met nice muslims who encouraged their kids do love whoever they want. In this specific scenario I would trust the girlfriend though, because she knows her family better than us.

How people react when you try to speak their language

Reply in thread

We've just been on the french north coast last week (from Austria) and I was also positively surprised. Everybody was really nice and spoke English very well. I'm still traumatized by 4 years of french in school because whenever I said something I was scolded that the pronunciation is wrong. Unfortunately that made me hate the french language, but french people made me more confident now and maybe I can set my peace with french now.

People have 2 friends? Blimey that's a lot

As a woman I have friend's I just talk to whenever I want, like once or twice per year and never had a problem with them. Athough there were friends I lost because we didn't have enough contact and they didn't like that. Looks like it depends on the person and not the gender. Who would have thought that ;-)

My daughter says it's unfair our boy Mr.Pouce wasn't "famous on the internet". She's right. He was the nicest, classiest cat of the city. May he rest in peace.

I'm so sorry for your loss. Ours was also our baby even though I only met him when he was already 3 years old. It felt like I had to protect him and couldn't because he had cancer :-( we and he fought so hard and in the end we had to euthanize him, but it felt like we betrayed him. I would love to hear from your kitty if you want to tell something about her!

Usually it's not part of the date conversation for me because it doesn't matter if you date an average heigth guy. if a guy is really fucking tall and I'm genuinely interested about how tall he is I have asked, nobody ever minded. I think this whole height fetish is a little bit out if control because of dating apps maybe. Because I've met all of my boyfriend live and then you can see about what height they have. And I've never minded if somebody is small or tall.

So I can totally see myself and especially my boyfriend doing that in a couple of years. (Our cat died this year) Sweetly he and a friend connected over death because a friends mum died a coupe of years ago. I was like oh my god you can't compare that, but our friend really opened up about his mum after we told him how heartbroken we're after our cat's death.

Some companies are getting ridiculous with it.

If somebody would do that do me I would very likely not show up after the third round because I would think they're crazy. (Am in Austria though so results might differ) But seriously after a second interview I would feel like they are trolling me and chances of me not showing up would be high... Is that really normal in the USA?

Sorry that happened to you! I've cut out long term friends because they were toxic. And am so much better without them. Even if it hurts shortly, it will be better for your future. I guess you've already done that maybe but don't lose hope, there are good people out there worth your time :-)

I didn't want to say it, but you're right. A lot of people love that look though, but for me that doesn't look healthy at all. And she asked for an opinion, so no need for anybody to be butt hurt.
