Wednesday wins
I've felt pretty good this week mental health wise, so I'm taking that as a win. Glad the sunshine is finally upon us, even if it does turn the country into a special kind of sweaty hell. It's our sweaty hell.

This is the kind of news I like to read. Cows are so lovely.

Best crumpet toppings.
Butter and a nice strawberry jam is usually my go-to. Melted cheese under the grill if I want something savoury. Peanut butter is also nice.

Thank you for making this post. I saw it happen and found it very concerning. I didn't feel capable to address it myself so I am very glad someone else has raised the issue. I would like to hope that the vast majority (should be everyone but evidently not with what's happened) of our instance will be in agreeance that transphobia is absolutely not something we want to be associated with here. @[email protected] Please deal with this.

Thursday Moans
Yes to the hay fever although it's not really my eyes, it's my nose, throat and inner ears. It's driving me nutty! Antihistamines make me feel rough as hell too, so it's either don't take them and suffer or do take them and suffer in a different way. I'm all for councils doing a bit of rewilding and I really want the bees to be safe, but I will moan about the pollen.
Also, the twat across the road leaves his poor dog outside 24/7 all year round. It barks incessantly day and night, howls at every siren and generally sounds like a very unhappy dog. It's upsetting.

I’m truly sorry you’ve had this experience here. I saw your post and I saw how quickly it got locked. I also saw how you handled the situation in the other thread where they debated with you back and forth. I won’t pretend to be hugely knowledgable regarding the issues that the trans community face and that is on me, I need to educate myself. I just want to add that I think Tom may be on holiday at present and it might be that he isn’t sure how to respond to you. However, that’s not an excuse and I do think that the community should have been locked down at the very least. It’s unfortunate timing that an instance was created, it’s grown extremely quickly in numbers, and the lead admin is not able to give full attention to pressing issues like this. I hope a resolution can be reached soon.

Monday morning musings
Morning everyone. It has indeed rained! Had a good heavy shower yesterday evening. Today is a day of housework and food shopping now that it’s a bit cooler. Starting the week in a relatively positive mood - hopefully that continues!

I'm here from Reddit! I don't want to go back there but I'm going to need somewhere to talk about Wimbledon. Glad I found this community.

Ok, as a user on lemmy.ml, I'm pretty sure none, or close to, of my posts and comments are being federated.
Just seen your post from feddit.uk :) I do agree though, I have an account on feddit and on lemmy.world and when I view the same communities from both accounts I see a totally different number of comments or no comments at all / some posts don't show up / whatever. There's definitely some issues going on here and there.

Tablet organisers?
I use a small zip pouch like a mini emergency stash. It’s small enough to chuck in my bag and I keep strips or singles that I’ve cut off of strips that are too big to fit in the pouch. Something like this :) Or maybe some kind of small plastic / metal container would give them a bit more protection but still keep them all together within your bag.

PSA: beehaw defederated from lemmy.world and sh.itjust.works
I can kind of understand where they’re coming from. To register with their instance you need to be approved, they obviously have it set up like that for a reason - to weed out nuisances/trolls etc. They want a ‘safe place’. With the explosion of new lemmy users, they have tons of people accessing and posting in their communities without having to be registered / approved and it probably feels quite overwhelming for an already-established instance to be ‘ambushed’ in a sense. It was probably manageable before the reddit evacuation but I imagine it’s pretty crazy right now. It’s frustrating if you want to contribute to their communities though, for sure. No option but to register within their instance and wait to be approved for the time being.

The Wednesday Whinge
I slipped a disc in my spine a couple of weeks ago and my mobility is still limited and the pain is still bad. Our downstairs neighbour doesn't seem to understand the concept of doorstops and instead he just slams his doors all day over and over again, maybe he's pissed off at me because I stomped on the floor when he was playing loud music at midnight. On top of that there's the bloke next door who has one of the most vile sounding smokers coughs I've ever heard, gets up for work at 4am and sounds like he's wretching, lovely to be woken up by that. Plus the whole building constantly stinks of weed from another downstairs neighbour. Oh and we're on the top floor so it's been a million degrees. Urgh I can't wait to not live in a block of flats anymore...but oh wait mortgage rates are fucked so no house for us yet - if ever. This thread is a good idea, thank you. I was able to talk about happy and positive things in this thread, and then come here and have a good moan.
