For what it's worth I have a yoga 370 i5 powered laptop that has had the shit kicked out of it for about a decade now, it doesn't even officially support w11 but I installed it anyways (save me the Linux sales pitch- I need windows on this laptop to tune ecus so I cannot switch this device) and it runs like greased lightning on w11. I can't imagine how this would run with kde plasma or mint!!

U got any good alternatives to recommend? I was given a ring camera as a house warming gift, one of the nice flood light cam ones. Want to get away from ring but also don't want to buy more crap LOL but I want to add a camera to the rear of my house and refuse to have ring recording me on my patio nor do I want to up my subscription. Was the customer concern duplicated before determining what the repair was? Who did the diagnostic work? Was it test driven and quality checked afterward? Was the customer made aware of any other potential issues down the road? Ai and robots may be able to help in menial and manufacturing tasks but would never be capable of repair in automotive, especially not anywhere rust is common !

USA has always tried to give US based companies a leg up over objectively superior products. Our tax dollars are why there are any American car companies left, sure Ford didn't get a direct bail out but we use them for police and other service vehicles across the country which has helped keep them afloat. Plus obviously Chrysler and GM taking govt bailouts and still flailing desperately while making trash vehicles and wondering why they don't sell. The American auto industry doesn't struggle to keep pace, it has NEVER caught up to or even compared to the rest of the world. They have always been 30+ years behind any European or Asian vehicle.

Just so you know, the larger gauge wires were to carry more current required by the old halogen bulb and are unnecessarily large for an LED light. A better comparison of how shit is crap these days is that a lot of electronics don't even use copper wire but instead copper clad aluminum that's subject to corroding withing 5-10 years of use. But I love to see you repairing things and "upgrading" along the way with thicker gauge wire! Just wanted to point out the larger power consumption of older appliances is often why they have larger gauge wires. There is nothing better for the environment than fixing and reusing what we have rather than replacing !

Running windows is like playing with an action figure. You take it out of the box and it does what it's supposed to. Linux I consider more like a Lego set. Sure you have to put some stuff together before you really play with it, but it's YOUR creation by the time your done with it and you can modify to suit your use case. If you have no interest in tinkering with ur OS windows or Mac is just a better option, if you want to tailor your experience how you'd like Linux is the way. I run W11 on my gaming PC because I don't have time to mess with it and experiment anymore. I have played with so many Linux distros but never had one work flawless out of the gate, and always reserved it for my secondary fuck around rigs because if I wanted to fuck around I could but I do want something that i can press the power button and evrything works fine without use of my brain after working a 13 hour day where i might get lucky to play for 40 mins lol. My fuck around time these days is totally sapped by project vehicles and house issues the last think I wanna do is play around in terminal when I have 10k other more important things to do :c
