I struggled with this for a long time on that other site. I'm trying to do things differently here.

Food in the US military
Marine-turned-Flyboy. The chow isn't that good, although (excluding Air National Guard DFACs) it's definitely a step up from what the Corps serves.

There's another one out there waiting for you. I found one, and so will you. Until then, send a kiss up to the foot of Rainbow Bridge.

How to use Synology Drive as a Google Drive alternative
Google sometimes deplatforms people as well. Regardless of one's politics, one can't be positive it won't happen to them should the winds change.

Sir, our workers formed a union...
I'm officially neutral on the topic because there are too many factors involved in each respective workplace and CBO. That said, a leading union-busting firm, LRI, states the absolute worst enemy of a union organizer is a workforce of well-treated, happy employees. Unions can't penetrate them. This is all too much to ask for many employers.

California to teach K-12 students about unionization and their rights
Whether or not a union ought to be formed for a given workplace is not a matter on which I will comment. What I will say is that a mass of people who are well-educated on their rights makes them a force with which to be reckoned.

Those of us who never got along well with others never developed the social skills and confidence to play "the game." This leaves us gathering every shred of courage we can find to make an awkward, poorly-implemented advance only to be devastated when we get the inevitable rejection. That's why a lot of us say "screw it" and turn to other things.
Speaking for myself, pushing 40 it's not a great place to be, socially speaking. Will I put in the work to get over it? Will I succeed?
