I really don't get the anti AC fraction

If the blinds are closed and there's half decent insulation, and maybe a fan for some airflow, inside can be much nicer.
Offices generally don't have this though, unfortunately

Would love to see you learn an entire foreign language just so you are able to communicate with the world without being laughed at by people as hostile as yourself.

I don't think it should be acceptable to buy your way out of a court case which reveals truth and justice.

Did the price go up? Or did you just get more features that you don't need to use?

Feel free to try and convince me otherwise but, games shouldn't be accessing your kernel at all. That's a major security issue. Also part of the reason why Linux has complete separation between kernel and OS

Playing old Windows games on Linux through Lutris is awesome!
Would highly recommend RetroArch as an all in one emulator for most consoles. It removes so much of the pain of emulation.

More than 700 people cross Channel in small boats
Get this fucking shite out of here.
People insistent on keeping up with daily reports on small boat crossings are fucking ill, and desperately need therapy, and to go outside.

Peter Thiel comes to Paris to speak about the Antichrist
Deciding that the best solution to encroaching government power is more capitalist corruption of existing state institutions, and investing in Palantir, a tool that literally assists governments in controlling their populaces via soft power, is absolutely demented.
The solution to all of these problems is more democracy, not less. Create an actual system that puts power in the hands of the people, because this ain't it, and it never was.

Surpluses for the purposes of maintenance and expansion need to exist
They do not need to be controlled by capitalists for the purposes of enriching themselves.

So you wanted to pay less for the same product? That's what you're upset about? You expected proton to lower your prices?

These are the 10 most cyclist-friendly cities in the world
I literally have no idea how any city on planet earth could be more cyclist-friendly than Amsterdam. They are treated with more respect than cars and pedestrians.

Say we succeed in bringing down Capitalism. Then what?
Socialism. True economic and political democracy, that isn't managed by capitalists, landlords, or other centralised powerful groups, and where elections are not won by money.
It really is as simple as that. These comments are baffling. We can't have Norway or Switzerland globally, that is possible only by continuing to rely on the poverty of the global south.

I would argue facilitating somebody else's offensive action, is an offensive action. If I encourage my friend to punch somebody else, I have participated in the attack, and therefore have committed an offensive action. Debating over culpability here is ridiculous, the man who loads the bombs is just as culpable as the man who drops them.

You think having a nuanced opinion on a tool is somehow objectively bad. You need to touch some grass.

How Britain Became as Poor as Mississippi
Reply in thread
This is exactly it. The American economy is riding on a semi-permanent high of being the dominant economic power of the entire world, especially since the USSR fell. They maintain this with a combination of military power and economic power, projected globally.
Copying that simply will never garner the same results

Name the best US to EU switch you have made so far
Reply in thread
It isn't, but it is definitely the best switch if you have privacy in mind. A lot of other options have various areas they are lacking in. Signal is a real gold standard of privacy and security, and open-source, so location matters much less.
