I predict by the year 2000, 99% of all Assembly will be written by compilers

Only that the compiler works in a defined algorithmic way that can always be expected to work, at worst it uses more cpu registers than needed or something. AI on the other hand just spews garbage in a fundamentally statistical way and despite the enormous efforts to create tools that manipulate it into working more predictably, it still sucks so much of the time.

Another difference is that you are critically thinking when "instructing" a compiler via the code, but you only convince yourself that you think critically when you're instructing an AI, it's not the same and it actively makes you a worse engineer every time you decide to use it instead of thinking.

Who is the opposition leader?

Rid yourself of the notion that democracy lies in political parties fighting each other where you get to vote on them, and you will realize that all capitalist democracies are just elaborate dictatorships disguising themselves every 4 or so years.

This "democracy" is exactly the kind of system that brought Trump to power with a useless "opposition" party that is comfortably looking away while Trump does all the dirty work that they would also like to have done if it didn't ruin their facade.

The only real opposition can come from the people themselves.

Systemd preparing to comply with age verification laws

Wow that's an insane level of bootlicking, it was completely free for them to do absolutely nothing about this nonsense law and give the middle finger if asked by the US

I didn't care before but it turns out the systemd haters were on to something for a long time, fuck these owners for even considering this and even locking the PR to avoid valid criticism, I hope all the contributors create a fork, jump ship and never let the previous owners commit a single line of code to it

really putting the 'fed' in 'piefed'

It's also very interesting how someone who seems to really dislike a country they don't live in having what they claim to be a social credit system, are the ones who actually implement the fucking thing in their own software

PieFedeology - Ideological Purity in PieFed

All the bullshit they say about silencing and 1984 is as always, a classic case of projection.

Please enlighten us on where we should be getting the full objective unbiased reality from, the New York Times maybe? God forbid a media takes a pro working class / global south bias instead of the usual neoliberal status quo ideology. Call them out on it and they'll deny they even follow any ideology, they're just being Objective™.

You being justifiably dunked on is different from you being labeled as propaganda, and then hiding your from our user base with hardcoded rules in the code because those pesky users can't be trusted with choosing their sources of information.

Go back to your lib safe space where daddy Rimu will make sure you never hear of us again

Any android devs: Please add your support for a developer strike on the play store should DeveloperID pass.

It's a really good idea, if anything can truly make Google think twice about implementing this, it's them losing apps from their store that the community loves and might jump ship to F-Droid in order to install.

It's obvious that they don't give a damn about software distribution freedom, it's specifically what they want to kill by doing this, so words alone will never be enough.

I hope this gains traction soon
