“Are we the baddies?”

One thing I like about Lemmy is how interesting articles that I want to read all the way through are recommended pretty often. And often from sources I would never usually read. That seems to be missing on Reddit.

It's fascinating how the writer of this piece sees the situation, as he doesn't believe Tories are 'baddies', just corrupt and incompetent. There's been almost no discussion this election about the damage the 'competently evil' wing of the Tories has done to the country through austerity. They are so much more dangerous than the incompetent ones.

Carnival of Self-Harm

TLDR: the tories fucked the country in almost every way you can think of, through short termism and ideological zealotry.

Not a very controversial statement - but the article is extremely good if you want that deeper detail and analysis.

What is a "bad video game" you have bought as a joke (as in just for the laughs, the lols)?

I bought Ace of Seafood, in which you can play as many kinds of fish that all shoot lasers out or their mouths at other fish.

It's absolutely baffling but probably not how you'd expect.. I found it pretty technical and demanding. It's like a very serious game where you fly F16s and dogfight and destroy aircraft carriers except everything is fish. It's Japanese to the max.

I paid about £6 for it on the Switch, did not play it enough to get my moneysworth. But I think once you hear the concept, you will never stop thinking about it until you try it, so I was glad to be able to stop thinking about it.

Interesting, I thought the ending of Worm was super satisfying and worth the wait.

I read it over 5 years ago and still think about it often, and still add to my playlist of songs that's an imaginary soundtrack to it ('Tracks' by Chelsea Wolfe is the main theme).

Everybody else just go read it, it's a web serial, it's free. I'm amazed that he hasn't managed to get physical books out yet.
