I'm telling my spouse I'm leaving today and I'm crushed.

I am very sorry this happened to you. I don't know who you are, or the first thing about you. For all intents and purposes, I am just a random internet guy reading about your struggles.

You clearly have a deep level of patience, empathy, and have devoted a significant portion of your being to another person. Never let anyone, including her, ever make you doubt that. She cannot and/or will not accept that and has clearly decided to take that for granted. It is very very rare to find someone like you who will put up with such utter bullshit for that long.

I really relate because I was in a similar relationship. Unfortunately, these things tend to happen. Let none of this extinguish the light of who you are. Just as you showed love and loyalty to someone, love and loyalty must be shown back. There are no free lunches. Not in partnership, and certainly not in life.

Stay strong, and don't look back. I, and others, are rooting for you.

Twitter/X new ID Verification - First Look

I, for one, want to thank Elon Musk for graciously backing up my highly sensitive government ID (that has my birthdate, eye color, height, weight), my biometric data, and likeness! It is such a nice thing to centralize all my most sensitive data into one giant honeypot waiting to meltdown. It is made even more appealing after he fired the entire staff responsible for maintaining this honeypot!

Diagnosis makes sense.

I don't think this is too far off. Synaptic pruning leaves us vulnerable to increasingly relying on heuristics as we age. It is entirely possible that cognitive decline makes us more drawn to less cognitively taxing messaging (generally conservatives).

MUH FREEDOM TO BE STUCK IN TRAFFIC

Reply in thread

Saw a TikTok on the Saturn ad that posed how inefficient car transport is when scaled with large populations. Basically, if you remove the body of the car and have people walk on those same roads, they are just taking up so much space. Traffic is horrible even though there is plenty of space between people. The comments section lacks media literacy in the most basic sense. Either they were willfully ignorant, or just outright stupid.

All the comments were like "doesn't this prove cars are the most efficient form of transport?"

Americans truly need to visit Tokyo, or really any city outside the US that HAS ACTUAL PUBLIC TRANSPORT INFRASTRUCTURE.

I live in Houston, the worst possible car centric nightmare and I get nearly killed every other day. It's gotten to the point where you don't even flinch when someone almost rams you in a head on because these near misses happen all the time.

I am so fucking sick of cars.
