The Witcher 3.

It just feels so generic and suffers from one of the things I hate the most about rpgs. Endless sidequests that have nothing to do with the main quest.

Cyberpunk 2077. The first part was really enjoyable. Then you get to the open world part and it suffers from the same issue as the Witcher above and also has fiddly levelling up/skill tree. Also it's overwhelming. You're on a mission. The phone calls. Sone rando wants you for a job. Start job. The phone calls. There's an out of control ai taxi...repeat. Just too much information at once and mostly for stuff unrelated to the fact your character has a very personal and important mission.

Survival/Builder games I find incredibly boring.

Personally I'll be staying here and not going back to Reddit. I'd been winding down my use of Reddit recently anyway so the blackout was just the little push I needed to delete my account.

Yup. I'll be deleting my Reddit account at some point over the next couple of weeks. Without RiF I'll not be using Reddit at all.

I'm going to miss the Star Trek sub but I am hoping the Lemmy one will pick up.

Overall, Reddit has suffered over the years allowing blatant right wing build ups to take root. My old local sub was seeing dog whistles pop up and general quality of the sub sufferes, even more so when the local football people came over and brought their 'banter' with them along with shit posts. The mods didn't really do anything to guide the quality of the sub and I left it last year. Today I deleted my account. No regrets.

I'd honestly advise watching TNG and then DS9. Give Voyager a shot, although I find it's a bit of a slog. You can always watch the first 6 movies as well. The other movies would be worth waiting will after TNG.

For the new stuff watch Discovery first and then Strange New Worlds (Or at least wait until the end of Discovery season 2 before starting SNW).

I would also recommend Lower Decks despite it being a cartoon. It's well worth watching.

Absolutely made up about this. Star Trek and the related subs were the only ones I used by the end of me being on Reddit.

I honestly do not like the RPG mechanic of levelling up/buying skills, especially in FPS games. I'd rather have a Half Life experience over levelling.

I'm also not a fan of side quests. I find it breaks the immersion when you're character is on some crazy, world saving overall quest but sure, I can spend time to find that random thing for you.

I'm not a big reader these days but back in the 90's I was. The ones that really stuck with me and have been reread once or twice.

Very much looking forward to this. If it's like Stellaris then there's plenty of potential for it to feel Trek like with mysteries to investigate as well as the action and political elements.

I've been on a marathon since April. In order I've watched Discovery season 2-4, SNW, TNG, DS9 and am at season 6 of Voyager. I've also broken up Voyager with the first 6 movies.

I did manage a couple of ToS episodes but I honestly find ToS hard to watch.

Voyager is feeling like a slog so it's not background viewing while I work from home and I've switched to The Orville for my evening viewing recently with a plan to watch Babylon 5 after.

It's one of the reasons I avoided Trek forums for years. Thankfully the Trek sub (now here) is a much calmer place and it turns out the more militant Trekkies are a very vocal minority.

And one of his kids is transgender. Musk is a very unpleasant human being.

Star Trek TNG and DS9. Brings back a lot of fond feelings and is my TV hug.

My single favourite board game is the Game of Thrones. No dice. No luck. Pure tactics and the occasional alliance.

I have apparently terrible luck so games that involve dice, especially d6's do not interest me.
