Is it wrong for 25M to date 19F?

Why do people consider bigger age gaps a problem? Because there's often a difference in maturity and experience that makes it harder to communicate, have the same goals and often puts the younger party at risk of being taken advantage of.

So if you think that the thing the age gap is a stand in for, a gap in maturity, doesn't apply, there's also no reason to get hung up on the number and mistake the map for the territory.

I think it's good that you're questioning yourself though and you should probably keep being a bit cautious about the situation and reevaluating yourself until you can be certain you two are on the same level.

As always there will be a lot of wailing about how the CDU/FDP could violate their supposed principles of not working together with the AfD and very little discussion about how it can be that the CDU/FDP are the ones that repeatedly find themselves in situation of substantial political alignment with the AfD in the first place. Such a weird coincidence.

If we rightfully accept the AfD to be absolutely vile it's about time the mainstream political discourse stops letting its closest political neighbours get away with some performative declarations of distance and start a discussion about how the rot sits right there are the policy level.

Sind die Ostauswanderer Mitschuld am Rechtsruck in Ostdeutschland?

Reply in thread

Germany’s Days as an Industrial Superpower Are Coming to an End

Nobody is surprised. The FDP knows exactly what they're doing, which is make as much politics blatantly in favour of their donors as long as they're in power. They don't care about what that does to the general populace or even how they're perceived for it. One or two elections later everyone will have basically forgotten about it again anyway and the whole shtick repeats.

3 killed in shootings and an explosion as deadly violence continues in Sweden

Okay, and what would "incredibly enforcing it" look like in your opinion?

You could establish longer criminal sentences. But longer sentences generally don't have a higher deterent effect and you just end up with people who have been isolated from society longer or are harder to integrate.

You could make it easier to arrest people/have criminal proceedings, but that will also mean more innocent people will be subjected to harsh measures and grow disdainful of the police.

You could increase police presence in general. But that is also likely to harbour mistrust and have more people subject to unfair scrutiny and would probably to little to prevent the crimes we are talking about here.

And mind you, all these measures will be much more likely to target migrants who already might have a not too rosy view of law enforcement and general society, so you're always risking exacerbating the same societal issues that are also contributing to the crimes.

So what exactly would you suggest?
