Europeans, what is something that Americans have/do that makes no sense to you?
They glorify soldiers way too much and teachers way too little

Tesla's problems in Sweden are getting worse as dockworkers refuse to unload its EVs from ships

Someone will be desperate enough to work there. Now McDonald’s has a competitive advantage and other places will have to follow suit and then it‘s worse everywhere. It‘s amazing that there are places out there where regular people can actually influence anything.

The router recognizes a device based on its MAC and assigns an IP address. Traditionally, the MAC stays the same, so you’re right. In this case, OP doesn’t want to be recognized by the (airport) router. There is software for spoofing the MAC address for most platforms. Changing the MAC address has recently become more popular due to privacy concerns and on some operating systems it’s supported out of the box.

Help with trouble.nvim - I want to cycle through modes
I don’t know any specifics about trouble, but would it be good enough to just track the current mode in your own global option/variable whenever you toggle it with your shortcut?
If not I‘d start by taking a look at the trouble source code.

Rule of orthography

Context. In the first two examples both sentences sound exactly the same, but it has never been a problem.
In some examples I‘d maybe expect stronger emphasis on the noun. ‚Sucht‘ (short u) vs ‚sucht‘ (long u) from the last example are pronounced very differently.

There is https://github.com/libratbag/piper for Linux which seems to support the my master. It is definitely more limited than Logitech gaming software, but allows me to configure my g600 just fine.

A group of researchers said they have found a way to hack the hardware underpinning Tesla’s infotainment system, allowing them to get what normally would be paid upgrades — such as heated rear seats
Reply in thread
Because it’s still more expensive to install the heated seats for everyone then to not install them at all. And most people don’t need them. So if it was a base feature then the car would be more expensive for everyone.
So now they let the people that bought the upgrade pay for everyone’s heated seats - which is less expensive then it would be if heated seats were only installed in their cars.
I’m not saying that it’s the right thing to do, but it does make the car cheaper for everyone.

There are Browser plug-ins for captchas. Haven’t tried any, but in your case it might be worth it to check them out.

ELI5: What exactly makes AI dangerous? And how could it end the world?
It’s still far off, but there is this concept that IF we are able to create an artificial general intelligence that is smarter than we are, then this intelligence could create an even smarter intelligence in turn or improve itself. Eventually it could leave us intellectually so far behind that we couldn’t do much if one day it decided to kill off humanity to limit global warming or for some other reason.

Thanks! Turns out I‘m just blind. I thought it was only a drop-down menu. That fixes my biggest gripe with Mlem right there.
