Wow, what a short-sighted view. Android, despite its many shortcomings, gives you orders of magnitude more freedom in almost every way imaginable. And none of its shortcomings are blocking you from using it, rather more or less annoy you.

Yes, com ports work way better than in windows. I've done a lot of embedded development on linux and it's way more pleasant than in windows. One thing you do have to keep in mind is that access to com ports (USB and real) requires root access by default, but once you've set the udev rule up, it becomes accesible to normal users and/or group of users. After that, it works flawlessly. Android dev also works great and imo better than on win. Proprietary jtags may be an issue, but I've never actually had an unsolvable situation.

Nothing. What people think and say is jail breaking is actually side loading custom android apps, which is actually already part of android. Amazon IMO made it more difficult than it's supposed to be. I installed vlc and stremio and use it alongside all the other apps. Nothing groundbreaking nor illegal. That's not jailbreaking, it's using Android the way it's designed to be used.

I'd just like to add that the students/people have no official support from ANY EU, USA or Russian officials and, unlike with Milošević, are fighting this fight alone. It is going to be very hard to win. Opposing parties have been weakened and slandered throughout the years, so fair elections are currently not possible. Almost all media is still controlled by the regime, so chances of any alternatives arising are small. But there's no stopping now. I hope there won't be any (further) casualties, but some sort of physical confrontation is not going to be a huge surprise. So far, the students have resisted any violence and any provocation of it. Wish us luck.

As a rust developer, I'm biased, but I think it might be a great thing, if done properly. I've also done some kernel dev a while back and it's full of kernel-specific macros and conventions and boilerplate code. It would at least improve readability and reduce some boilerplate as well as improve on some common security bugs. But seeing as how different C is in kernel context to regular application, this may be the same for Rust, in which case I hope the devs know what they're doing, because it can easily get out of hand.

I f-in knew it from the start. I kept telling everyone. But it's hard to listen when every youtuber and their mom switched to bambu. I don't like Prusa all that much either, but they are A LOT better than bambu. So I blame Bambu, but also YouTubers and influencers who started peddling them from the start. In terms of being open source and maintaining that model. Also having some of the parts actually be 3d printed. Other than that, I don't know, Ive never owned one, never used one. It is too expensive for me for the features it has. Also xl seems to be a unique thing. Too expensive, though.

As for flashing the Prusa, I don't follow Prusa, so I didn't know about that one, but voiding a warranty vs locking you out isn't the same thing really. Though I wouldn't consider it a good move, I understand it somewhat.

If I was buying a new printer, which I won't, I'd go for a Sovol SV08, which is somewhat of a Voron clone.

Renault seems to be doing good with their new lineup. Stellantis on the other hand - not as much. I don't know of a single model of ev of theirs I would want to buy if I were rich enough to buy a new car. I thought maybe fiat grande panda, but it is priced exactly the same as Citroen EC3 and in that segment, it's not appealing to me at all. All of their cars share the platform with an ICE car, which includes the grande panda. They are simply not competing with Renault at this point. I hope 2CV will change that, but who knows when it's even gonna be available.

Yes no one cares, but then a big company announces they will not serve people in animal costumes. Then people go - makes sense, it's weird anyway. I've never seen a person in animal costume in person, not even as a mascot or on a kid's birthday. It's just not a thing here. And I'm from Serbia, it's provably even rarer in Moldova. I would find it weird if someone explicitly said they will deny them service. It's like denying service to dinosaurs, it's odd. It is a good cheap marketing though.

Mine too. I had to compile the drivers for a win modem (popularly called linmodem). Then switched to mandrake, mandriva, then Ubuntu 6 or 7, whichever came via mail for free.
