Failed driving test. parents want me to bribe???
You need to pass the safety test, not pay for it. It will only make you a better and more confident driver
Money won’t be there in the moment when those developed instincts are required

It's quite sad to see everything related to the blackout on /r/programming wiped.
Ah yes, spez. I got permabanned the day 3p died for harrasment, clicked the link and it was a comment I had made a week prior insulting spez.
He really leans into the man baby version of Elon

Infamous power mod got permabanned without explanation, then have a public meltdown.
I love a good redemption arc and their future is looking bright with potential!
What will a Reddit mod do when they can no longer mod?

100% code coverage is near-meaningless - but is there a good measure to use?
So true lol. Mgmt just announced a directive at my work last week that code must have 95-100% coverage.
Meanwhile they hire contractors from india that write the dumbest, most useless tests possible. I’ve worked with many great Indian devs but the contractors we use today all seem like a step down in quality. More work for me I guess

Kim Kardashian vs Emilia Clarke
Just another example for my preference against “big=better”
I’d take Amelia every time

I don't understand people
I don’t have an ig account because I walked away from Facebook and and any other non-anonymous social media a long time ago and I just don’t want to get back in.
For me i can see the allure of threads for those that do have an ig account and that will naturally bring others in. I will never bother because I can get the same or better in terms of content without sacrificing things I value.
For those that do have an ig account, they’ve already given up all that data when they signed up for fb/ig so it was always going to have a good sized starting pool of content/users
The real question is if people stay or if it acts as a springboard to other parts of the fediverse. Surely a combination of sorts

Hi everyone! Fuck Reddit!
I too got banned for overwriting my comments and then deleting them.
They went back and found a comment I made a few weeks before the deletion and banned me for harassment for insulting spez lol

People around the world, do you drink tap water without boiling?
I never drink water out of the tap because I prefer to filter it first. It’s safe to drink but I want it clean and much colder so into a filter pitcher and put that in the fridge

How about participating in /r/Place and promoting the fediverse?
I would but my account was banned for “harassment” for insulting spez lol

I’m talking to a masto user, who writes great threads on the Russian war situation, about posting their threads here too … what would be the best place and way of doing so?
Why not just have a bot repost their content here. Many people do this for rss feeds like Reddit subs and such. Same with Twitter accounts being reposted on mastodon

That’s a bit of an oversimplification, TT absolutely is relevant for tests humans can pass but a bot cannot.

Do you prefer x264 or 265 HEVC?
Shit, I like HEVC in theory for the compression especially but it’s copyrighted bullshit or whatever.
I use Plex with lifetime pass on my QNAP NAS and it has to hardware transcode HEVC to a playable format because of said copyrighted bullshit.
It doesn’t affect me that much unless I’m trying to jump around on the media as it will need to load. The other thing is that you can have Plex save transcodes but that obviously gobbles up disk space.
tl;dr 264 = 👑
