If your game requires a server component to be played, let players run the server. Ideally from day 1, but at least as part of shutting down your game.

it's really not hard, that's how multi-player games worked until lootboxes took off and replaced modding.

Does your car have an app that let's you see data from your car or do anything to remotely control it like unlock the doors? then that can be done by the car company that runs the backend the app communicates with.

It's also not limited to app based things, cars have had this since OnStar was a thing. It's just much more obvious these days.

i am not making shit up, I promise I've ran many game servers over the years. I am obviously generalizing as of course there are counter examples especially MMOs.

But then there is warcraft 1 through 3 that were peer to peer and quake, half life, unreal, painkiller, enemy territory, and just about every fps game of the era that came with the software to run your own dedicated server, or could host a listen server while playing.

If you want to just look at a single very mainstream example, look at call of duty. Everything up to and including cod4:mw came with the software to run your own server. nothing after it did, though a few let you 'run your own server' by paying their approved hosting provider to run a copy for you, but it was always under their control and not something you could just set up on hardware you already have.

because on windows or Mac it may have just worked. ..until it doesn't, or leaves your windows scaled wrong or placed on monitors that don't exist or some other failure condition. at which point you reboot and hope for the best.

when it doesn't work on Linux I'd check logs, actual configuration, and even the source if I need to.and then I'd hopefully improve things and make it work the way I want it to.

All I can think of are some variations of you trusting a service to validate your id and give you a token that just asserts your id has been validated.

But it's still not really privacy preserving because it relies on trusting both parties to not collaborate against your privacy. if at some point the id provider decides to start keeping records of what tokens were generated from your id, and the service provider tracking what was consumes with that token, then you can still put it all back together.

I dont have any specific llms to recommend but if you do want to go that route you could always run it remotely through something like Google collab.

But I don't know if I would trust the results of an llm doing this as any mistake would make your entire resume untrustworthy

There's a lot of things that make the Bluetooth experience better.. it's just almost all focused on mobile phones, maybe apple laptops if you stay in their walled gardens, but definitely not stock windows.

that's interesting because frankly I feel the opposite.vertical screen real estate is at a premium, it's already common to have a horizontal taskbar and/or menubar eating into the desktop space, and then any browser UI like address bars eat into it more. Meanwhile most websites I visit are filled with whitespace on either side and always require scrolling down, often infinitely scrolling down, so the more vertical space the more you can fit on screen without scrolling.

To put it another way: I rarely full screen my browser because making it wider doesn't help, but I usually have it filling the maximum vertical space. Granted I'm on an ultra wide making this problem worse, but even at work on a 16:9 I feel the same way
