I didn’t even realize how long I’d been using Apollo until all this stuff happened. It’s been the only way I’ve used Reddit for five years. Not having access to it anymore really hurts. Christian did such a phenomenal job of making Apollo feel incredibly intuitive and customizable without feeling overly cluttered. I’m really going to miss spending my time lurking over there.

What are some notable scams in history that went unnoticed for so long?
The Bernie Madoff investment scandal. Started in the 1970’s and continued into the 2000’s. It eventually dissolved in 2008 during the financial crisis. There’s a really great documentary on Netflix about it.

This sounds like a fun idea! I’ve put a project on the back burner that I’d like to start working on again. I’d love to team up with someone.

When your bacteria just won't grow
Ughh, this is my favorite science mystery. Why do microbes go so much better in nature than in the lab? If I ever end up in grad school, I would love to put my focus on that.

Universal's streaming service Peacock Lost $651 Million From April to June, expected to lost $3 Billion in 2023

Resident Alien and Poker Face were both good. Not sure if Resident Alien is exclusive to Peacock. I don’t have it year-round, but I do appreciate their collection of new movies that didn’t do as well at the box office.

What restaurant chain did you used to like, but but any more?
IHOP. Going there when I was a kid was such a treat, I would always get the huge pancake with the face on it that would take up the entire plate. The last time I went, which was several years ago, the serving sizes were so much smaller than before and nothing tasted all that great.

Maybe the posts that show up in /all differ from person to person? I don’t know. They don’t bother me too much, but depending on the day/time of day, I’ve seen a number of them come up back to back. I do enjoy a good meme so I happy to see that community thriving here.

To add on to that, I think the episodes and moments, especially in the second season, devoted to growing each character really help balance out the sheer chaos of the show. Watching them evolve and mature made me cry more than once this season. I can’t wait to do it again in season three.

I’ve been scrolling through the /all feed. There do seem to be quite a few bean related memes in there.

I think the second season has a bit of a different rhythm to it than the first. It made it a little tricky getting into the start of the season, but I feel like once I got used to it, it didn’t bother me so much. Especially after rewatching it a few times.

Describe your job in the most stereotypical and ignorant manner as possible
I prep the stuff, put it in a machine, and pray everything looks okay when it comes out. I also prep other stuff, load it onto a different machine, and hope everything comes out looking okay. And then there’s a whole different set of stuff that I prep a lot of, check to make sure it looks okay, then send to a different team who will prep it in a completely different way.

It’s kind of wild how much of an impact a single app can have on us. But it makes sense. Apollo was so amazing because of how thoughtful Christian was about growing and expanding features. And because he was so responsive to what we wanted and asked for. I can’t think of another app I use where the developer interacts with the community of users to the extent Christian did. Which makes how Reddit and spez treated the situation a million times more disrespectful.
I don’t think it’s cheesy at all. At the end of the day, Reddit was a community of internet weirdos that I enjoyed being a part of and having to let that go after all this time is painful. But I’m excited to be a part of lemmy and to watch it grow as a community.

Neither, although I think it would be cool to be a chef.
