Jesus Christ, Photoshop...

Right, just like anyone could stop using anything they found objectionable or immoral and keep their mouths shut about it, but this is exactly the type of thing not to keep your mouth shut about.

Software that enable you to do something should at some point just do that. To get good at something, invest time and money into an ecosystem that takes a lot of both to invest in, shouldn't arbitrarily use that as leverage against it's users to impose it's morals on them.

Sure she could switch to gimp, and arguably she should literally because of things like this, but that's not something you can easily do with everything, and it's worth calling out when a corporation leverages a virtual monopoly on something to force it's users to comply with something like it's judgement of content.

We're lucky enough to have open source versions of a lot of things, but you don't get anywhere simply voting with your wallet. Where you get somewhere is voting with a lot of people's wallets.

Can we find the person who, for no apparent reason, interpreted manufacturers markings as apparent 'trans ideology' and ask him wtf that was supposed to accomplish? I mean if you don't know what some markings mean, aside from blatant bias is there any possible way to get to 'trans ideology' from manufacturers markings? Are they using male/female icons? Emojis? Printing them in rainbow colors?

"Luigi wins by doing nothing" is happening in court

Reply in thread

Supposing he is a 'murderer', is there some reason he should be handled any different than any other murderer? Why the death penalty, tv coverage, nationwide man hunt, etc? Why don't all murderers get federal charges and the death penalty by default?

The point is, if he's going to be treated special by the prosecution then it's fair to treat him differently on the defense side, and that meant in the court of public opinion as well. Why villainize him while letting someone else off with a public defenders and a half asleep state prosecutor?

Showing up a few minutes early to work could make sense, but showing up a day early? WTF? Why would someone possibly tell you to start work on Tuesday unless there was some reason Monday intentionally wouldn't work? I mean ffs, either you won't be in the system, keys aren't ready, your friggin co-workers may not be ready, no desk... And you want to show up a friggin day early and make someone babysit you on top of their regular job?

Barron Trump barred from military service as Iran war sparks outrage

Reply in thread

The outrage might be a little over the top, but the sentiment is valid. Click baity shit like this is why no one pays attention to the actual outages going on.

If people are constantly seeing articles like 'Trump didn't say he would rule out pushing toddlers into wood chippers to combat climate change' and the article goes on to talk about how he was asked about what he had for breakfast, then outrage is a little hard to keep up. I actually think that's the worst/best tactic trump has used... Keep the outage going so steadily that people are worn out when the real stuff is out in the headlines.

Airplane seatbelts

Reply in thread

For sure, anyone who has seen some of the videos of drink carts and luggage bouncing off the cabin ceilings during crazy turbulence shouldn't have any questions about the utility of seatbelts in less than catastrophic events.... Which of course is the goal even in 'crash' landings. There are crashes where seatbelts would obviously be worthless, but in anything short of that, you'll be happy that you weren't in a box with 300 human shaped dice being shaken up.
