they are being serious, though. a lot of people in the US use fundraising platforms like GFM in order to afford medical treatments. not just cancer, but other important surgeries, medical devices, service animals, etc. even if they have health insurance. insurance companies can semi-arbitrarily decide if the issue is "severe" enough to warrant full coverage (or coverage period).

i was there when it happened. it was actual antisemitism (calling a jewish person the k slur, mentioning how jewish people have been expelled from several countries as some sort of sign that antisemitism is correct, implying that every jewish person supports the gaza genocide, etc). and on top of it all they went into another channel when said jewish person they called a slur pushed back, to call them the r slur. if only it were just someone saying israel is bad and shouldnt exist. 🙃
