Why Australia’s answer to Greta Thunberg is facing years behind bars
TLDR, Australia is passing strict anti-protest laws and the police are bought by oil giants.

I mean, apparently. The brain is so weird, it's really really difficult to even imagine what it's like to experience certain things that other people do. For example, sometimes people have their corpus callosum (the membrane between the hemispheres that allows them to communicate with each other) severed to prevent certain types of seizures, and afterwards they lose the ability to see "green men" as faces.
For reference, this is what a "green man" is:

Can you, who easily sees the face, really even understand what it would feel like to look at that image and not see a face?

Unity announces layoffs despite increased revenue and reduced losses
Well duh, you always (short term) make more money (short term) when you're paying fewer employees (short term)! And those (short term) gains will look really good in the future ex-CEO's resume (and bank account)!

Gaetz: Johnson victory proves MAGA power over Republican party
He's absolutely right; it's a fundamentally Republican feature to allow an extremist minority to control everyone else. The electoral college gives republicans a huge advantage in presidential elections, for example, and now we see that the Freedom Caucus, a very small cadre of right wing extremists, can exert it's will over the entire 435-member Congress. Instead of compromise, a handful of wackos elected a guy who swore to "fight vigorously with the Democrats."

AirVPN discloses server seized in 2015
Reply in thread
I dunno, if my VPN came out and said "heads up, one of our servers was seized and you have literally nothing to worry about because nothing is stored or logged on our servers," that's good news IMO. Obviously the best case scenario is not having it seized, but sometimes that's not possible, and it's a mark of a good VPN when the consequences to you of a server being seized are the same as if it wasn't (i.e., none).

Or maybe Risk
Fun fact! The concept of "hit points" were originally developed by military wargames, and were defined as the number of 14-inch shell hits a vessel could survive.

I'm surprised there are not more cartoons with mimes as protagonists. It would probably cut down animation costs and you wouldn't need a voice actor.
Funny enough, "cutting down on costs" and "not having a voice actor" isn't actually what makes a good cartoon.

[Motorsport] Kevin Magnussen on maximum fines
I have very little idea about the salary of everyone on the grid, but according to a random article I found on the internet:
Max Verstappen - $55,000,000
Lewis Hamilton - $35,000,000
Charles Leclerc - $24,000,000
…
Oscar Piastri - $2,000,000
Yuki Tsunoda - $1,000,000
Logan Sergeant - $1,000,000
And this doesn't even include sponsorships, of which Max and Lewis have significantly more than Yuki and Logan, it seems crazy to me that a single fine can be a driver's whole salary for the entire season. It's just running into the same problem that speeding tickets have for regular people: the same ticket could mean not making rent for one person, and be pocket change for someone else.

Cyberpunk 2077's redemption is complete, but the future remains murky for CD Projekt
Reply in thread
The game is so much better now but it still falls short IMO, and it'll never live up to its original promise. Plus, the game was soooo bad on release that they decided to kill all future DLC except for this one. Which means the game is never getting another major update, no more fixes and no more work towards delivering on the original vision.
