According to davel, .ml admin, it's "Rule 1 bigotry" to talk about the atrocities of the NK dictatorship on the lemmy.ml instance and you'll be banned and censored for it

GTK Developers Working On Session Saving Support & Better Accessibility This Year
GTK toolkit developers met in Brussels once again for their annual hackfest during FOSDEM week.
Following their latest GTK 4.21 test build for the GNOME 50 beta, GTK developers at the hackfest were discussing and thinking through some of their plans this year.
While previously there was talk of a possible opt-in unstable API for GTK so developers could test new experimental API features, no firm decision there has been reached yet. They did decide though to bump their C runtime requirement to C11 for the GTK 4.24 cycle.

A nice, overdue usability improvement is on the way for those using Apple Macs under Linux. Finally there will be the ability to preserve the same backlight brightness across reboots under Linux.
Currently when rebooting a Mac with adjustable display brightness under Linux, the brightness level is not saved and thus reboots and ends up being set to whatever was the last brightness value set by macOS. But two small patches to the Linux EFI code will allow saving the brightness on Macs under Linux.

Not Kidding! Bash Shell Manual is Part of Epstein Files 🫣
When I first saw a tweet about the Bash Reference Manual being part of Epstein files, I simply thought of it as a joke.
And then there were more tweets. As a Linux user and an open source enthusiast, I was curious and I had to find out if there was any truth in it.
The truth is that indeed Bash Reference Manual is part of the Epstein Files released by the U.S. Department of Justice. You can access it here.
NOTHING IS SAFE LMFAO

Synex Server: A New Debian Based Linux Distro With Native ZFS Installation Support
Synex is a Linux distribution that's been around for some months as a Debian-based, minimalistic Linux distribution out of Argentina focused on the needs of small and medium businesses. Making it a bit more intriguing for some now is that with their new release based on Debian 13 is a server edition and they have added native OpenZFS file-system support for new installations.
Synex got its start last year and has been tracking Debian 13. To this point it featured MATE, KDE, IceWM, LXDE, Xfce, and GNOME desktop editions. But now there is Synex Server 13 R1 and with this server edition comes the ability to carry out installs making use of the OpenZFS file-system support.
