Invidious Redirects & YT Embeds [Requesting Help]
I host my own instance of invidious behind a reverse proxy. It's awesome. I use Redirector for Firefox so that when I'm on the interwebs, YouTube videos and embeds redirect automagically to my self-hosted invidious instance. I used the setup instructions in the Invidious-Redirector documentation.
Recently, I was on a new website and the embed didn't redirect. I tried to figure it out, but couldn't. The best I could do was try changing /embed/* to /oembed/* but that didn't work.
So I thought I'd ask here: How would you go about setting up a rule or multiple rules to sort this?
Edit to add: If you go to the new website, make sure you either have AI chatbots blocked in uBO or create a rule ||autonomoustechnology.ai^. Otherwise there is an annoying AI chatbot that pops up that you'll want to block.
Navidrome repost: Heads-up: the next release changes all internal IDs
Original post here [redlib link].
Written by deluan
The next release normalizes every ID in the database into a single format. It runs a one-time migration on first start. The PR with this change will be merged this weekend: https://github.com/navidrome/navidrome/pull/5824
If you run develop or auto-update, this lands soon (this weekend) and without warning. Make a backup of navidrome.db now. The migration is one-way, so rolling back (if needed) means restoring that backup.
The short version:
- Takes ~30s to ~1m20s on my 96k-track library (QNAP Celeron). Scales with library size.
- Everyone gets logged out once. Web UI and clients using the Navidrome API need to log in again. Subsonic clients authenticate per request, so they are unaffected.
- Song IDs change, album and artist IDs do not. Clients that cache song IDs (offline downloads, cached playlists) may need a re-sync.
- Cover art gets re-fetched, so the first browse after upgrading is slower.
- Share links keep working.
- Nothing is lost: favorites, ratings, play counts, bookmarks, play queues, scrobble history and Last.fm / ListenBrainz links all survive. No rescan needed.
- One manual fix:
.nspsmart playlists usinginPlaylistornotInPlaylistkeep the old playlist ID on disk and need updating by hand.

If you can, please test it with your favourite client once it is merged, and reply here (or on our Discord) if anything looks off.
EDIT: For app/client developers: I'll merge the topSongsByArtistId PR at the same time as this ID migration. This means that you'll be able to detect if a server is migrated by checking the getOpenSubsonicExtensions response and looking for the topSongsByArtistId extension.
What are you doing for podcast discovery?
Two questions:
- How do you find new podcasts to listen to, and;
- What are 1 or 2 podcasts that you would recommend to others?
Mullvad's ads are good
Seen in a SF Muni station
Edit to add: Jeez, relax. I was on my way home from a doctor’s appointment and saw that ad. It made me chuckle so I posted it here.
If seeing this post really upsets you, take some deep breaths and keep scrolling. With any luck, you’ll have fully healed in a couple of days.
uBlockOrigin is porting uBOL to iOS and macOS
A beta version of uBO Lite (uBOL) for iOS and macOS is available through TestFlight: https://github.com/uBlockOrigin/uBOL-home/issues/327
For details of uBOL, see the project page: https://github.com/uBlockOrigin/uBOL-home
Anybody here use Asahi Linux?
What do you like about it?
What do you not like about it?
Is it a completely bonkers proposition to buy a refurbished M2 Mac only to wipe it and put Asahi on it?
Tool for Spotify recommendations based on your self-hosted music library
I'm not the developer, but I thought I'd share this with the community. A pretty cool tool which reads Lidarr data and asks Spotify's API to return artist recommendations based on that data.

Swiftfin doesn't do audio for some reason and VLC doesn't reliably recognize UPmP.
Self-Hosted AI is pretty darn cool
I don't consider myself very technical. I've never taken a computer science course and don't know python. I've learned some things like Linux, the command line, docker and networking/pfSense because I value my privacy. My point is that anyone can do this, even if you aren't technical.
I tried both LM Studio and Ollama. I prefer Ollama. Then you download models and use them to have your own private, personal GPT. I access it both on my local machine through the command line but I also installed Open WebUI in a docker container so I can access it on any device on my local network (I don't expose services to the internet).
Having a private ai/gpt is pretty cool. You can download and test new models. And it is private. Yes, there are ethical concerns about how the model got the training. I'm not minimizing those concerns. But if you want your own AI/GPT assistant, give it a try. I set it up in a couple of hours, and as I said... I'm not even that technical.
DAS filepath autoincrements up each time I reboot [HELP]
I have a Qnap DAS. It is set up in a raid5 configuration. The problem is that each time I reboot my machine (ubuntu 24.04 LTS), the path of the DAS will auto-increment up by one.
For example the path will automatically go from media/raid57/medialib to media/raid58/medialib. That means I need to manually redo all file paths and then re-scan my entire media library for Jellyfin, each time I reboot my machine (which is like 2-3 times a month).
It is getting pretty annoying and I'm wondering if someone knows why this happens and what I can do to fix it.
How do you organize downloaded YT content?
I use yt-dlp to download and the YT metadata plug-in for metadata. But idk how to actually organize the actual files?
- Do you create a separate library?
- Do you put it in the shows library?
- How do you separate videos by channel?
- Is there a way to auto-download artwork for each channel?
New reading spots
I live alone and read books. I mostly read them at home but I'd like to go out and read. The thing is I have really bad adhd so it involves not just my Kindle but I also listen to the audiobook at the same time or I can't stay focused on the book. I just listen to it on my phone with earbuds so it's hopefully not a huge deal but it can’t be too loud or chaotic.
Where can I go out and "read" besides a coffee shop or the library. The library isn't convenient and it's a little weird going to coffee shops over and over again. I live in a big city so I'm sure there are other places I just don't know what they are.
Any suggestions?
What movies & tv shows use Dolby Atmos really well?
Most shows that have Dolby Atmos don’t really do a great job of leveraging its capabilities but some do an amazing job.
Which movies/shows do you think have scenes where Dolby Atmos really adds to your viewing experience?
