In 1925, some 57 years after Congress had first attempted to specify the spot, the problems surrounding the originally misplaced marker were brought up before the US Supreme Court. In order to amicably remedy this original surveying error, the US Supreme Court then redefined the point of the Four Corners, officially moving the Four Corners point roughly 1,800 feet (550 m) east, to where the original survey had first held it to be all along, and where it remains to this day, duly marked.[6] This initial survey error has resulted in some longstanding misunderstandings about the correct location of the Four Corners marker, some of which remain to this day.

well shoot. I guess I gobbled up this longstanding misunderstanding, even though it has been corrected for longer than it was ever wrong.

Truth

the one that makes me irrationally angry is the used car dealership advertising. like the decals are annoying, but the license plate covers/border things that people don't take off.

like do you really want to be advertising chuck and donna's used car emporium every time you drive your car?

Two newborn twins need a one-dose treatment that would save their lives: Zolgensma, a $2.1M drug. Insurance (also the mother's employer) cut coverage of the drug the day after they were born.

Interesting how insurance companies demand restrictions to "special enrollment" periods or specified times to begin coverage. It's a tactic to prevent people from beginning coverage before taking on significant healthcare costs and then cancelling after their treatment is finished.

But yet, an insurance company is able to change coverage without following similar practices? Is just about as close to a bait and switch as you can get.

I don't love that the headline as well as the first line of the article use the words "says" and "claims".

the jury ruled he was guilty. we're so far past "allegedly" and all that garbage. he did it. she was drugged. she was raped. there is no reason to be inferring any amount of doubt anymore.

I understand that people are being told different stories, the created issue is that those stories aren't questioned with even the slightest scrutiny. for this situation, the only evidence that the officer was going to be hit by the vehicle is from a video that's 500 feet away with 15 pixels for the car and officer.

no one wants to find clarity if it already fits their narrative
