uhh why are we still doing leetcode interviews in 2026???
Leetcode seems pretty useless right now. I think a take home, the results, and a conversation will lead to a really solid hiring signal though.

The entire world of software is using AI. It's so strange to me we're allowing big corporations like Microsoft, Google, Reddit, etc devs take advantage of it for efficiency gains then turning around and criticizing and scoffing at solo dev projects who want to push the Internet to a better place.
By all means it's your right to say you don't want to use anything built with AI, but at this point you're better just leaving the Internet wholesale.

I think the lexicon requirement certainly leads to a more polished look as you don't have to worry about custom interactions across multiple platforms, interoperability is basically baked in (given it's built to begin with).
It's quite nice I've been working in it quite a lot. A lot of people here tend to get into the "my protocol is better" arguments but honestly both sides have the same ultimate goal, each has its quirks.
Note on the variety, a lot of these like Mu is re-using the bluesky lexicon so it's effectively like a Mastadon Client. Same goes for Offprint, Leaflet, Pckt they all use the same Standard Site lexicon so they're effectively clients with some frontend niceties built in and maybe their own features, but the core is the same.
Also my account here is actually atproto 👋

100% I followed and tried to contribute to the NBA community quite a bit, but it was definitely tedious pulling highlight posts from reddit to post to to Lemmy constantly.
I ended up just botting it and have my own personal feed of highlights. It was also a bit odd because I would've loved to have botted it for the community but it's a bit weird botting for a community you aren't admin on.

This may have been true last year but nowadays AI is far better and more thorough, and faster than 90% of devs when driven by someone knowledgeable.
