As someone not from the USA I am convinced, after reading many news articles over the past decades, that people voting for the GOP are either evil or too dumb to make any kind of impactful decision.

You’re at work getting your ass kicked and leadership just shrugs and says it’s ok because we’re still making money.

In my case I was the software developer trying to make the best tool for our users only for management to force us to add more data collection and ways to squeeze a bit more money out of our customers. Profits went up, so it was "a success" and more was planned.

Now I work for the government, trying to make things better for citizens instead of share holders. Feels alot better.

This is the feature I miss most in Firefox, aside from tab stacking. I used Opera (before Blink days) and later Vivaldi for a long time and tehese features almost made me go back. Me not wanting to use a Chromium based browser was the only thing stronger than that.

I've given up hope on ever getting these features in Firefox by now.

To me, they are both winners. I loved Phantom Liberty and just started playing it again last week, only for it to be interrupted by Shadow of the Erdtree. Both DLC's reminded me how much I loved the base game and both are proper and large content additions. And they both run perfectly on Linux on day 1 <3.

Both these games and their DLC's are in my opinion what other game studios should aim for.

I have both Proton Unlimited and Mailbox. I prefer keeping my Mailbox account for mail, calendar and contacts. With Proton, I'd have to use their apps or some bridge, whereas Mailbox can be used with any app. I also have multiple domains connected with Mailbox and use plenty of aliases, so I don't really see why Proton would be better in that regard.

I don't have any suggestions to add, but as someone who subscribes to both, I was simply wondering what Mailbox lacks compared to Proton in your opinion.

And nothing of value was lost.

I have no experience with PCSX2, but maybe something in its configuration causes your issues. Reinstalling or updating it will not make a difference. If you really want to start over, close the application, remove the directory ~/.config/PCSX2 and restart the application. You will have to run through the initial wizard again. If it still won't work, some other issue is the culprit and you would likely need to share logs. Alternatively, if the application prints logging to stdout, you could run the application from a terminal (f.e. by launching pcsx2-qt) and see if anything is printed there when it shuts down.

The light theme sure does look pretty but it'd hurt my over-sensitive eyes after a few minutes. I will however for sure check out the darker version you showed in a different reply. My main pc's desktop is ugly right now because I just use it to get stuff done, but I wanted to change that for some time and I'll give this theme a test drive :-)

Nu is mijn werkgever de overheid, ga ik altijd op de fiets naar het werk en heb ik de ov-kaart maar 4 dagen gebruikt sinds ik er werk om met de trein na een cursus te gaan, waarbij ik na 3,5 jaar eindelijk voor het eerst covid heb opgepikt, maar toch. Minder auto's = goed.

The Dutch government also launched their own mastodon instance recently at social.overheid.nl. Several government departments have already joined. I hope politicians will also make the move, although I do not know if this specific instance allows for accounts other than those of government departments.

When you make public announcements as a politician or political party, it should be done via a channel that can be accessed without registration!

I've had a 7000-series card since December and haven't experienced any driver issues. Using KDE with Wayland and two monitors. My only complaint is the power use when I go over 60Hz, but maybe it has to do with one of my monitors. This is what I see happening:

• Both at 60Hz: 25W
• Using only display A at 120Hz: 25W
• Using only display B at 120Hz: 90W
• Both at 120Hz: 90W

I was hoping some driver update would fix this but by now I've given up. As for gaming experience, I have zero complaints. Big titles I played were Cyberpunk 2077, Remnant 2 and Elden Ring and they performed great.

Trying to finish my first full Darkest Dungeon run since starting in 2016. I never started the final DD level but completed everything else, but I feel I can't start Darkest Dungeon II before completing the campaign in the first game.

That and probably some more Cities: Skylines 🙂

Ik heb een deel geïnvesteerd in een groene modelportefeuille bij Brand New Day. Zij zeggen te voldoen aan de de criteria rondom duurzaamheid. Als je erover wilt lezen dan staat de info wel op hun website.

Omtzigt hoopte op 5 zetels, krijgt-ie misschien toch z'n zin. Ik denk dat dat voor hem ook een betere situatie zou zijn.

Het blijft me verder verbazen dat PVV en BBB zich zo handhaven terwijl ze al tig beloften hebben in moeten leveren en ze maar blijven liegen en bedriegen.

Ik heb de Nederlandse burger al opgegeven en zal waarschijnlijk de rest van m'n leven passief progressief stemmen en me proberen zoveel mogelijk te het egoïsme en moraal verwerpelijke gedrag wat zo de overhand heeft gekregen proberen te negeren...
