The only way to go
Sorry, I have to call shenanigans. That article was written in 2022:
A more recent article, in 2024, says they see no recession:
People on Twitter literally make shit up to fit narratives.

When I first got a Steam account, my original plan was to buy every game released on it. But now that’s impossible.

The Steam controller was ahead of its time
Reply in thread
That's the key. If you're wanting to play something like Street Fighter VI, the Steam controller probably won't fly.
But because I wanted to play Dungeon Siege on my TV, it works far better than a traditional controller ever could.
For the Steam controller to work for you, you have to come in with the mentality of it replacing a keyboard-and-mouse.

Microsoft’s New Xbox Strategy Starts with Windows and Ends with No Console
I’ll be honest: as much as I love Xbox—I still have my OG and a 360—PC gaming has completely leapfrogged it in terms of value.
The whole appeal of the original Xbox was that it brought PC-style gaming to consoles. I never liked playing FPS games on console until Halo came along and proved it could actually work.
But over the last 15 years, Valve has basically turned PC gaming into a console experience. These days, instead of hooking up an Xbox to my TV, I just connect a PC tower. Honestly, it’s way easier than it used to be.
The last console that really offered something unique for me was the original Switch, mostly because it made going from handheld to TV effortless. But with the new wave of handhelds running SteamOS or Bazzite, that same seamless experience is now possible on PC hardware.
If Microsoft can make Windows as smooth and intuitive as SteamOS, then maybe they’ll be back in the game.

I bought 226 games this month. No, I’m not okay.

I’ve played 22% of my Steam library and 25% of my GOG library.
Most of the time, I don’t finish the games. But I’ve got maybe 1 hour of enjoyment out of most of them—sometimes more. And I typically pay less than C$1.00 per game.
Meanwhile, at my local arcade, I sometimes pay $1.00 for a mere minutes of play.
Is it unfettered consumerism? Maybe it’s consumerism. If so, it’s certainly fettered.
I place hard limits on what I spend, and each game must be regarded as worth playing.
If there’s one regret I have it’s that I don’t talk about the many hidden gems I experience as much as I wish I did.

I Dared Defend Canada on X. The Response Was Chilling
Canadians will need to do the right thing and hurt America in the spot they like most: their pocketbook.
This will hurt us too, no doubt. Monetarily, probably more. But I don’t think the average American are prepared for what kind of hurt we can put them through.

Seriously, there are games I bought 25 years ago that work on Steam Deck—and they were never meant to work on Steam Deck. But through the power of Proton, they work.
How many original GameCube games work on a Switch 2?

Say what you will, every game I’ve bought—I can still play. And I’ve been buying Steam games for over a decade.
Meanwhile, none of my GameCube discs work on my Switch.
