Subreddits you are going to miss?

A lot of the smaller communities, and political ones.

And I'll miss the history, like, we have subreddits going years back. Subreddits full of stories and whatnot.

Hopefully it kinda mulls over in a few days, I dont really see it resulting in anything too permanent. Though I'm often wrong.

Show us your altar!

Here's my luciferian altar! Dedicated mostly to Prometheus and Lucifer (the Christian idea of him, the whole war in heaven/the Serpent in the garden of Eden)

It's mostly stuff I've found in thrift stores or things my partner has given me. A few gems are ones I bought at a gem show, and I made the rosary myself :)

What's the weather like in your part of the world?

Honestly, I've never really took to much caution about admitting where I'm at. I carry my phone on me at all times, and it's pretty much just a tracking device. Like, I'm not spewing it at every second of the day, but saying what city I'm in is very inconsequential when my phone records my exact location down to the building

how did you get into fountain pens?

Reply in thread

Seconding what leclownfou said. I never really cared about my hand writing until I was using fountain pens. It really makes you want to improve your penmanship.

It's really not as hard as it sounds, I was able to teach myself cursive in a few days, and it's been generally touted by people who look at it as the nicest handwriting they've seen

I'm apparently a lib?

Reply in thread

That's sorta how I feel about everything like this. Like, obviously as an anarchist I don't support rounding up the billionaires and politicians and landlords and executing them, but also I'm cool with looking the other way while those who've been screwed over by them get justice

Reeducation can only work so much. For smaller landlords, (people who decided to move and rent out their old house for example) "reeducation" could work fine. Teach them the effects of their actions, show them compassion.

However, larger landlords know exactly what they are doing. People who are landlords as a career, they know exactly what they are doing. They know how their actions affect the working class, they don't give a shit.

I'm not saying put them all in extermination camps. But they certainly cannot be taught the error of their ways.

What do y'all think about ReVanced?

I've been struggling with it lately actually. For some reason it doesn't really work on my phone. The videos will play the first minute at most, then stop loading. Regular YouTube doesn't have that problem.

Before that started though, I found ReVanced much better than the official app. Would recommend

Approaching Solstice

I've been trying to think of some plans. I'm with my dad, and he's probably not gonna be the happiest when he learns I'm a pagan. (Not trying to hide it though)

If I can't travel back up to see my partner and/or friends, I'll likely not be able to do much sadly.

Edit: I might veil on the solstice though, for some reason I've been wanting to, feels right. And it'd piss my dad off (I'll be safe, he'd never say anything to my face, just complain to my stepmother, who'll complain to my sister, who'd tell me lol)

For everyone new to Lemmy, how are you finding the experience?

I definitely do agree with the old school vibes, I wasn't really born in that era of the internet, but it really is giving me those vibes.

Overall though, I'm finding it pretty intuitive. Certainly better than other social medias. I've tried tumblr and Twitter, just can't get the hang of them yknow?

I definitely prefer reddits app ui though. But I might just be so used to it anything else just feels weird.
