powermods that run hundreds of subreddits abusing their authority, everyone is snarky and rude, only approved stances are allowed and anything deviating from them get dogpiled/censored, the annoying redditisms (edit: Thank you kind stranger! Wow I didn't expect this to blow up! obvious fake stories in AITA/Relationships, etc).

the entire site was just getting really stale.

the upside was that it had an active forum for almost every niche interest, but that's also a negative as it really killed many of the small special interest communities.

imagine creating a button that makes you win, but makes the process far more complicated.

now imagine, once you're out of power the other guy can also push the button.

once pressed, neither side will ever stop pushing the button when in power.

if lemmy ever wants to succeed, we have to stop being obsessed with reddit and reddit drama.

It is both funny and sad that Google has more or less trained me to never use their apps.

At this point, I purposefully don't use them because I assume they'll soon be cancelled.

My company, at first, decided to ask everyone to come back into the office.

They were also trying to hire more people, but almost every candidate dropped out once they heard they would be expected to go in.

They've now reversed course and let people work from anywhere.

We are heading towards a future of Apple, Samsung, and Google, with even the latter two struggling to stay afloat.

And to be fair, Google deserves a lot of the blame for this happening.

But over time, we found a growing number of customers were buying Advanced subscriptions not to run a business or organization, but instead for purposes like crypto and Chia mining, unrelated individuals pooling storage for personal use cases, or even instances of reselling storage.
