My latest Pleiades attempt

Hello!

I had a very brief weather window to attempt the Pleiades with my new GTI, everything else is the same as last time except some new editing steps in Siril and Affinity Photo.

It's about 2 hours worth of data in 25 sec shots, unguided, with a 500mm photo lens stopped down to f8 (hence the spiky stars) and a stock Sony A6000.

Lost about an hour of data because the powerbank that powered the dew heater died, putting that on my checklist for sure!

Feedback appreciated, old post in the comments for reference.

Camping trip Milky Way shot

Took my lightweight setup with me camping. The spot is on the south shore of Crete, Greece.

It's a Bortle 2 beach that's very hard to beat! I shot the Blue Horse Head nebula and the Andromeda Galaxy with a vintage Jupiter 135mm f3.5 lens, results here soon.

My tent is on the right, my gear on the left and a little flower got in the way that I hadn't noticed.

Single 30sec shot with an iPhone 13 Pro. Adjusted colors in iOS Lightroom.

M101 - The Pinwheel Galaxy

My second ever galaxy, other than the Andromeda. The conditions were not favorable for it and I had just over 1 hour to shoot it, so I had to stretch the data a bit too much to get a recognizable result.

Still, for a first attempt it's not bad. Will revisit for sure.

Feedback appreciated!

100x45 sec lights, 15 of each calibration frames. Shot on a stock Sony A6000 with a TTArtisan 500mm lens on a star adventurer star tracker.

Processing: Siril, GraXpert, StarNet, Photoshop.

Trifid and Lagoon

My first attempt at the Trifid and Lagoon nebulae!

A few minutes worth of 30sec exposures, 10 darks (had to leave in a hurry) and 20 flats/bias.

Edit: Shot with a 500mm f6.3 camera lens and a stock Sony A6000 on a Star Adventurer.

Edited with Siril, then Starnet++, then Photoshop and some minor adjustments in Lightroom.

Feedback appreciated!

First attempt of the flame and Horse Head nebula.

My first time trying to shoot the Horse Head nebula! I have a stock Sony a6000, which cuts out most of the hydrogen red signal, but thankfully enough got through to at least make this a solid attempt.

The data is about 45 minutes worth of 30 second exposures out of my Sony and a Ttartisan 500mm f6.3 lens, on a star tracker.

Due to the very limited total integration time and the stock camera I had to stretch pretty far while fending off artifacts here and there.

Overall I'll take it, will revisit in the future.

Feedback appreciated!

An attempt at Andromeda

My 5th time trying to image a seemingly easy target with something being off... This time I must have nudged the lens out of focus slightly and there was some dew forming on the lens that I hadn't noticed. This hobby sure has a steep learning curve!

Still, decided to not throw away the whole attempt and did a quick processing. It's about 45 minutes worth of 30 sec exposures at 500mm f6.3.

Feedback appreciated!

Orion Nebula

73x30 sec of the Orion nebula, with a stock Sony a6000 and a ttartisan 500mm f6.3 on a StarAdventurer.

Lens was wide open, which introduced lots of aberrations on the brightest stars. Will try stopping down next time. Also, focus wasn't perfect and I had some dew issues.

No calibration frames, either, I was just testing the lens for the first time.

Stacked in Siril, stretched in photoshop, final touches in Lightroom.
