Anybody know what's up with Beehaw blocking so many instances?

I actually just created a new account on lemmy.world because of what beehaw did.

They are wanting to create an instance of inclusion that doesn't risk people feeling like they will be attacked. They are blocking instances where they are noticing "hate" coming from. They are doing it so they don't have to mod posts coming in to make sure they fit with what they are trying to create.

What are your thoughts on Beehaw defederating?

I created a new account just now on lemmy.world about 10 minutes ago once I saw the announcement. I get what they are trying to do over there but I think defederating is a little much. I am upset about loosing out on some of the communities they have but others will take their places on other instances.

Why lemmy.world should not defederate from beehaw.org.

So I have an account on beehaw and pointed this out earlier to the admins. Got snapped at because how dare I try and say what they will do in the future. I was also told if they were going to defederate from everyone they already would have. Didn't really get a response as to what they would do once people start to trolling from other instances. They don't think it'll be a problem from what I gathered

Am I the only one that feels lemmy is boring?

I don't really have this issue. I went through every community yesterday and joined every one I wanted to. I have my feed set to subscribed and new so it's always changing. I really suggest going through the community list.

You have to also remember there aren't the same amount of people on lemmy that are on reddit. It's going to take a minute for communities to grow and post more often.
