Not impressed

OMG in still confused at this.

"I don't eat animals"

"Do you eat fish?" (My thinking people say they are vegetarian but are actually pescaterian but don't like saying it for some reason)

"Yea but thats not an animal"

"Hahaha yea it is"

"No it isnt"

"Wait what? .. If its not an animal what is it? A tree? Haha"

"It's a fish!"

"Which is an animal"

"No! An animal is an animal, and a fish is a fish!"

"Fish are animals. Look, we can look it up to check if you want"

"I'm not going to look it up because I know a fish isn't an animal. I don't need to look it up!"

"... ... I guess I can't argue with that"

This all took place during pre drinks which is why I thought I was getting fucked with at the start. But I never realised how so many people are walking around blindingly, confidently, unshakeably wrong. She got mad.

Most could work on anyone really

I'm so glad I'm not short. Short guys just get shit on so much. Been at parties where someone just out of nowhere says "You'd be hot if you wasn't short". Like imagine that for anything else "you'd be hot if you wasn't black". "You'd be hot if you wasn't in a wheelchair" just getting shit on for genetics.

Same girls also cry murder if somebody says something about a fat girl, which is in their control.

Humans are part of the ecosystem.

I watched a documentary in New Zealand about fish stocks. It was talking about how the fish around New Zealand are overfished and numbers are low. Had experts talking about issues with boats and how they need no fishing areas. They had Maori on there talking about how much abundance of fish there was before the white people came. They talked about how in tune the Maori were with the land and had ways to manage stock.

The documentary finished saying the issue is still ongoing and not enough has been done. Didn't really go into why.

Well I looked it up after the majority of fishing companies are owned by the Maori and the reason the scientifically justified areas were not set as a sanctuary was because the Maori didnt agree and wanted to do things there own way that would allow them to fish at levels higher than what the science was saying is possible. On this matter New Zealand cared more about what Maori incorrectly believed over what the scientific evidence was saying to them.

People need to get off their high horse. People suck all over the world. Yea shock the people that live in mountains which remain untouched because it is shit farmland is going to have the most nature. But go to other countries and you see it's the same, well worse than white countries. Places like UK has had protected land for hundreds of years. They set up protected land in the new places they went. Areas they left like Malaysia and India are full of rubbish and monoculture. They didn't get better. Go to Indonesia and look at their beautiful islands. The tour guide said to us "look no littering sign. Only in Indonesian. Westerners don't litter but the locals do".

As the US sabotages the globe's fossil fuel infrastructure, in China BYD's latest Blade batteries charge from 10–97% in nine minutes, and have a range of 1,000 km (640 miles).

This takes a real hit out of the new sodium batteries that CATL are bringing online right now.

So cool that we have two batteries that basically fit all the needed requirements for most applications. Cheap, safe, made from abundant materials, fast charging, long lasting, recyclable, work in the cold.

I get they are not the complete most energy dense batteries you would want to use in your phone or a super high end car where you can brag about having the longest range on the market.

But for renewables and grid storage, for cars for everyday driving or even exceptional once in a year road trips. The problem has been solved with two difference battery techs, it's amazing.

Why Are New Appliances So Bad? [41:02]

I watched a good video on tool quality.

It basically said the exact same old tool is better than the new tool now. But the new tool is priced much much less. When they compared it to a modern tool that was the same price or less it performed the same or better.

People just want cheap things and companies want to make money. People need to buy quality and companies will get an incentive to build quality.

In school my RE teacher was trying to tell me about how so many films are about Jesus.

TBF I love the Matrix and I had heard that before so I mentioned it and she said "yeah thats a good one"

But so many things can secretly mean something if you really want it to. Really the good guy goes through growth and saves everyone then dies. Is basically like the main story humans like to tell. 90's was big on "the world isn't what you see it is. It's broken and we can build something new" like fight club, is that a trans move? Is that about Jesus? I dont think so.

Privacy is ultimately lost isn't it?

It's just a matter of time before actual 1984 level prevention of wrong comments and everyone is going to be listened to all the time.

Whether AI grows quickly or slowly it will just add to it. Those with power will control it and it will reinforce their opinions and silence ours.

Not sure if it's the case here but I seen a thread at some point where tonnes of men were staying they had a bad time with a female therapist and had a much better time after changing to a man.

Maybe this is just one of those examples.
