Some Retailers Are Refusing to Sell GTA 6 Due to the Lack of a Disc
Reply in thread
Games would ship with multiple discs if required in the past. The issue with no disc at all is that the license cannot be transferred.

Residents who live near data centers say a constant low-frequency vibration is ruining their health and homes

It was a theoretical thing. Government is supposed to work for the people, not just corporations. Obviously the government in the US is not doing a good job at that.

So they build them cheaply and doing everything in their power to avoid regulations. We really need the government to come in and shut these down given all the harm they cause to their local environment.

We really need to focus on more offshore wind for this reason.

What should I change?
Maps - > CoMaps Photos - > Immich (if you can self host) Passwords - > Bitwarden (May change in the future)
I agree with others on trying to not have one service for everything, which proton is trying to become. An alternative to Proton Mail and Calendar would be Tuta, though I haven't used them.

This machine is designed to be played on a 4k TV. Upscaling may help, but it will hard limit the machine in the future.

I think the frame won't be impacted as hard. Most of the costs will come from the VR components, which haven't really gone up.

Canonical's New AI Tool Wants You to Talk to Ubuntu Instead of Type
Reply in thread
This would have been better received if they just didn't use AI in the name. Sure, it's just using an LLM under the hood, but it's running purely locally. It also betters Linux since it helps address an accessibility issue.

MIT Researchers: Russia's nuclear-powered 'Skyfall' missile is dirty and dangerous
If they could get a closed system where the intake air doesn't become contaminated, this could work well with things like recon drones where they would be able to stay up in the air indefinitely.

"System and method for storing broadcast content in a cloud-based computing environment"
What a bullshit patent. Twitch and other streaming services have been doing this for longer than this patent have existed most likely.

Fucking based
They wouldn't be able to pay the creators due to sanctions anyways. Could be seen as a positive because it allows the creators to put pressure on the US to lift the sanctions on the country.

The bubble cannot burst fast enough. I'm tired of these higher hardware costs because of a feature that nobody wants.

Unfortunate. It still doesn't change the fact that Billy Mitchell is a huge loser.

What the Linux desktop really needs to challenge Windows
Choice is both one of Linux's greatest strengths and weaknesses. There are so many distros that offer something great an unique, but that also leads to choice paralysis as well as fragmentation. I think Bazzite has been great for the Linux gaming space because it does offer a single user experience that reduces the knowledge barrier for those just getting into Linux.

Battlefield 6 players are crying out for a 'real' server browser, and it's about time we demanded the basic FPS feature that Call of Duty killed
It would be nice if we had both options. Let people matchmake for the default experience and let those that prefer custom servers to use those instead. There are problems with using only community hosted servers, such as game rules and less ideal admins.
That being said, the longevity that community servers offer is likely the reason they have been scrapped by EA. They want everyone to move to the next title that comes out like what people do with CoD.
EDIT: Typos from mobile
