Apples to Apples

Actually, apple varieties are preserved via grafting. If you take an apple seed, the tree that will grow from it only has 50% of the DNA of the tree that made the apple. So there is absolutely no guarantee that the taste was preserved across generations.

Forsén stated in the 2019 documentary film Losing Lena, "I retired from modeling a long time ago. It's time I retired from tech, too... Let's commit to losing me.

From Wikipedia

She was a paid model, so I don't consider the usage unethical based on that. But I like this comment from a journal:

In today's age of high-resolution digital image technology, it seems difficult to argue that a 512 × 512 image produced with a 1970s-era analog scanner is the best we have to offer as an image quality test standard".

Lmao, they do have a point though!

Which is awesome, because every number up halves the size. This, combined with the standard way that paper weights are given (e g. 80g/m2) allows you to easily calculate how much a piece of paper weights: 1 A4 80g/m2 weighs 5g (1/2^4 * 80g)

At university most teachers have serious dedication. It's just not for teaching, lmao.

But once you do your thesis, discussion in their respective fields of research or general expertise is really awesome.

It's October, soon we'll switch to winter time. Does anybody know what happened to the suggestion to remove it?

  • The public poll was extremely skewed, mostly Germans voted.

  • Biologists argue against permanent summer time, people are in favor of summer time. But most people haven't looked into the issue enough. Do you like to get up early? Then summer time is indeed better for you. But for most people it's not. But summer is nice and it's really complicated to think about time and the sun and how one changes when we move the clocks, so most people think they prefer summer time. Public health and public opinion run opposite in this case.

  • At the moment we have one time zone all the way from Spain to like Poland. Poland doesn't want to give up summer time, Spain doesn't want to give up standard time. (Or was it the other way around?). They are on the fringes of the time zone, geographically speaking and feel the negative effects the most. Obviously neither country wants to make the situation worse for its citizens, so no agreement has been reached.

I'd imagine a sedative overdose is the best way to go. First you get unconscious due to the sedative and once you don't feel anything anymore your heart stops beating.
