If you really want to get right with it, use cash in person.

In person is the only reason to have nfc anyway so cash sidesteps all the data concerns and you don’t have to choose between trusting a particular big corporation, yoloing it with Jim’s third party processing app or raw doggin’ the possibly a skimmer payment terminal.

Try to do something else: open a container tab (I am a firefox user, so I use Firefox’s container tabs), log into google and watch your videos. Open up a different container tab (again, I am a Firefox user so I have to make a different container to use) and see if the recommendations follow you there.

You are, based on two threads full of replies from you, incapable of avoiding “google” “tracking”.

It could be that you’re running android, that your google access point is sending telemetry or that you simply don’t have enough understanding of how the web works to effectively avoid being tracked no matter what operating system or software package is in use. That last part isn’t meant as an insult, web browsers are basically their own os and extremely complex.

Have you considered using a sandbox setup like Firefox’s container tabs and logging into google on a particular container?

That avoids the need for you to avoid tracking by saying to google “I’m me!” While also presenting them an empty browser cache and cookie sandbox to play in.

Secure erase just drops the ssd controllers table of where logical blocks are in the physical memory and trims the disk. Which is good and you should do.

That means a person would have to address the memory directly with flying leads or a bed of nails or something. Or have special software that makes the controller tell them what’s on each physical block and then put that data together into a bunch of files.

If that worries you, do dd if=/dev/urandom of=/dev/ before you secure erase.

Then everything on the drive will be random static before the secure erase drops the block table and trims, so even if someone uses magic power to read the block contents directly they just get to see static.

That has the benefit of speeding up the drive by resetting read fatigue at the expense of one layer of writes which is always worth it.
