I think children should be encouraged to experiment with what suits them more. I was raised fairly degendered and it kinda sucked. I might've been protected from a lot of toxic masculinity, but I didn't discover how much I hated it until I became more independent. On the other hand, I never once got an opportunity to experiment with femininity, and so I genuinely didn't know how much I liked it until I was already an adult.

Being AMAB kinda defaulted me to being male. Combined with my natural inclination to be quiet and blend in, I exclusively went with "boy" so as to not rock the boat. I was told that gender didn't matter, so what would be the point in trying femininity out? I didn't even consider that I would prefer it.

The main thing is encouraging kids to discover what's right for them, letting them know that everything is an option and making it clear that you'll support anything they choose. I don't think raising kids without gender is the answer; they should be raised with all the gender until it becomes clear what they want.
