Het zal wel aan mijn bubbel liggen, maar ik heb het idee dat mensen om mij heen (zowel op mijn werk als privé) toch vooral bezig zijn met wat ze leuk en intrinsiek belangrijk vinden, en echt totaal niet met een carrièrepad of prestaties. En dat iedereen dat ook prima vindt.

Ik denk dat dat helemaal niet zo ongangbaar is. Dat beweert het artikel ook niet overigens. Het beweert hooguit dat er een taboe op rust om geen prestatiedrang te hebben. Maar zelfs dat vraag ik me af.

Maar goed, zoals gezegd ligt dat misschien aan mijn bubbel. Zijn er mensen die dit anders ervaren?

Ik was op reddit alleen een lurker. Ben daar weggegaan sinds het hele API gedoe en nooit meer omgekeken. Ik kom er alleen nog als ik Google gebruik om oplossingen te vinden voor dingen als Home Assistant.

Op Lemmy is wat minder te beleven, maar dat is ook wel prima. Dan leg ik m'n telefoon weg en ga ik iets anders doen. Ik vind het helemaal niet erg om niet oneindig door te kunnen scrollen.

Ik mis wel een beetje Nederlandse content en interactie... Dus als iemand nog actieve Nederlandse communities: kom maar door!

Ususally a bed is positioned with the head against a wall, so if you are facing the bed from the foot end, left and right are always the same. So I vote left/right is as seen from the foot end of the bed.

I believe a major factor in this was a ruling by the Hoge Raad that a "free" phone with a contract is unlawful and is actually a loan. Carriers now have to list the price for the phone and for the service separately, so it's a lot more clear what the costs of the phone are.

Also, a "free" phone is now registered as a loan with monthly recurring costs, which impacts for example the maximum mortgage you can get on a home.

What if I'm not successful in putting in the effort?

Stel jezelf de vraag: heeft het nog zin als de politie pas over een half uur komt? Zo niet, dan kun je beter 112 bellen. De meldkamer kan zelf afwegen of het belangrijk genoeg is om er agenten op af te sturen of niet.

Ik heb een paar keer 112 gebeld voor politie of erbij geweest als iemand anders het deed, eigenlijk altijd voor niet-levensbedreigende situaties. Nooit gehoord dat we niet hadden moeten bellen.

Sounds pretty similar to me and my grandparents, especially the part about not being vulnerable with each other. Mostly it's surface-level talks. For example, my grandpa is into plants and gardening, so we might talk about the garden or his most recent visit to the garden center or something.

And I'm pretty sure behavior like this is passed down through generations.

For part 2, the only thing that I missed at first was the JJJJJ edge case. My approach was:

• count the amount of jokers
• remove them from the hand
• count the rest
• add the amount of jokers to the biggest set in the hand

Last step fails if there are no other cards left after you remove the jokers...

I'm glad I wasn't the only one that wanted to work on a garbage truck, for the exact same reason!

For me it often covers important elements of the site that way. Especially these annoying "use our app" overlays, and then the "continue using website" button is hidden behind the address bar with jo way to scroll it into view. So no way to use the website :(

Ik kreeg in Jerboa een melding dat mijn token niet geldig was. Uitloggen lukte ook niet. Heb de app data gewist en opnieuw ingelogd, dat lijkt te werken.

Daar had ik nog niks van meegekregen, dank voor het delen. Hopelijk weten ze het snel op te lossen.

So wird es in die Niederlanden auch gemacht.

Immerhin gibt es auch hier genug Leute die aus dem Kreisverkehr raus fahren ohne zu blinken...
