HELLDIVERS 2 Steam Account Linking Update [link to PlayStation Network mandatory]

Man I really really hate the state of gaming right now....pay to win, in game currency, DLCs, half ass games made... I liked this game but this is by far stupid and makes no sense for me to continue playing. I honestly shouldn't have to worry about "account linking" when buying a game on steam.

This feels like a bait and switch, why wasnt this mandatory and upfront from the beginning? They knew that would hurt sales.....

This ^^ I thought this whole controversy was because they don't support the HA nix package BUT when people use it and their HA instance breaks.....they go to homeassistant support... Doesn't sound like a dictator but just saying they don't support that nix package etc. ?

Helldivers 2 Steam page reviews are now "Mostly negative" with "mixed" overall (old reviews are switching too)

The real problem for me is the fact this could have been implemented at launch....no reason not to except it would just hurt sales. How many people actually read the fine print of all the games they buy? I would never expect to create a PSN account if I'm playing on PC. Just sneaky dirty tactics not to mention the whole point of this is not to ban players easily its so Sony can suck up that data..

[BambuLab Blog] - Firmware Update Introducing New Authorization Control System

So I'm just not going to update mg firmware then? I'm already using lan only mkde, and if I have to start using an SD card I guess I can do that.

My A1 mini is 3 weeks old and I love it but this sucks.... It always starts with "security" and i can totally see them going subscription model and locking you into their ecosystem. I guess that's why it was so cheap and on sale haha. Sucks to see such an amazing product and success to go downhill so quickly...

Given BambuLabs recent issues what now?

Yeah this sucks, I just bought an a1 mini with AMS, I love it. I do have it in LAN Mode with no internet and I still use bambustudio since I believe that is open source no? Lets hope they reverse this but I don't see them doing that. Hope I can still use the printer without upgrading the firmware or somebody is able to make open source firmware for the a1 mini...

Man I hate tech space right now, every company grinding out as much money as possible anyway they can because "security"...

What is the most neatest Open Source smartwatch?

I just picked up a banglejs 2 and I love it. I was using a galaxy smart watch 5 but didn't work without gapps on my lineage phone. Its obviously not as good as the Samsung smart watch but I've been super happy with it. No creating accounts, getting tokens etc. Just pair it via Bluetooth and gadget bridge and you are good to go. Its a little pricey but for open source watch its awesome, I've heard good things about pinetime as well.

Can I refuse MS Authenticator?

I don't really get the rub here, JM all for separating work devices and personal devices but the 2fa apps don't leak any info and the company can't "do" anything to your phone remotely. The apps work in air plane mode. I also want to bet more than half the users that complain about this use the companies free WiFi.

Get a flip phone and say you can't install it, however SMS 2fa is very insecure.

Looking to start self hosting by going through Louis Rossman's recently released guide. Any pointers for a newbie are most welcome.

Start off small, get an old PC that has an i5or better that's got vt-d support. start off with 8gb of RAM or more. Then throw proxmox on it and you are off to the races. It will save you a lot of money since you can run multiple virtual machines or lxc containers. This is how I started out, my proxmox host now has 26gb of RAM and its running very smoothly . i like opnsense as a router and firewall but its a little advanced but amazing, also get an access point and a switch and you can start building your network. You could also even run opnsense in a VM but that gets a little confusing but its an option.
