Evolution works on very long time spans. Anthropomorphic climate change will be way too fast for species to evolve and adapt. I highly doubt all life will ever be wiped out on Earth, but we might lose 99% of current species with new species evolving over time. This is our dinosaur asteroid moment for sure.

I think people get some degree of choice paralysis as well. It's hard to pick which instance to join, and I worried about what I might miss out on. I ended up making accounts on a few and messed around until I settled on Lemmy.world. I could see this being a barrier for entry and forcing some people to just stick with the easy road, Plebbit.

That's if you're a weirdo who pays for Twitter. I barely use Twitter and was just scrolling through the Reddit and Twitter drama and was rate limited in like 30 minutes. To be fair, that's more than enough Twitter for me for the day personally, but yeah that's insane.
