Consumers are now ‘hunkering down’ rather than ‘trading down’ on groceries, Conagra says

Cheap food is no longer cheap, Mr. Giant Food Conglomerate CEO smart guy. Even fast food is the price of a sit down meal at a restaurant just three years ago. I've been cutting all inessential food purchases and leaning into staples. I'm a former chef, it's easy for me to plan cheap high-quality meals for my family but I imagine most people don't have the skillset to make it work, or the time, or enthusiasm.

"It can't be us" is the refrain of the willfully ignorant. No introspection whatsoever about food inflation and shrinkflation.

Those of you who shower barehanded: Do you lather and then use your hand, or just shove the soap wherever it needs to go?

I remember watching a black comedian many years ago and his bit started "Why don't white people use washcloths?", and it got me thinking. I started using washcloths and noticed I came away cleaner, soap on a hand doesn't cut the skin oils and dirt like soap and gentle abrasion can. I also noticed, because I'm hairy, that I get lots of ingrown hairs, especially on my legs. Switched to one of those "poofs" and now I vigorously scrub my hairy bits and no ingrown hairs. Exfoliating helps.

Use a washcloth and don't forget to brush your tongue, you filthy animal.

Once your face is scanned it is disseminated to several databases both Federal and State, which can be leaky. It can be passed around law enforcement circles, used on mesh camera networks to record movements in public (China is an example) and potentially used against you in ways you might not be aware of yet. The Chinese via tiktok and other sources such as hacking, are building dossiers on every American citizen they can get their hands on. The "it's easy and I've got nothing to hide" rationale is what they're banking on, makes their job really simple. Hell, people take fucking selfies and post them along with their name in the clear on the internet all time, those posts are scraped for security data and identity.

Its bad even getting close to Cowshwitz. The air is kind of green as you get close to it on the 5, all of a sudden you remember it's there and try desperately to roll up windows or shut down the airflow in the car. In the end, it doesn't help.

Florida's new Black history curriculum says "slaves developed skills" that could be used for "personal benefit"

What's absurd is that the meaning of the paragraph is nothing to you, but the number of words. In a book full of words. That's why you're not taken seriously. What is meaning anyhow? Aren't all books just collections of words, and there's lots of books so lots of words? Do collections of words have impact, meaning, or can I just say write/stuff and it doesn't mean anything? You are a fucking clown. You sure get your knickers in a twist when a single word comes up you don't like. Hell, a fucking acronym and you obsequious boot lickers lose your shit.

First Florida takes away their own history by censuring or banning history books and classes both primary and continuing, turns around with a new history book that has none of that other shit, but tiny widdle paragragh about how slavery was good for you. That's why we think you're fascist mouth-breathers.
