Seattle moves to recognize the rights of polyamorous partners

Reply in thread

My question is, why was the government ever involved in personal commitments?

But sure, if straight couples are getting married with legal benefits, LGBTQIA+ couples+ oughta get in on that, too.

And to get ahead of the strawman stupid conservatives might create, animals and children cannot meaningfully consent and thus should not enter into lifelong commitments.

I'mma say the thing they hate. The reflexive property: love is love. 🙂❤️

Yeah. It's difficult for me to see "traditional marriage" as anything more than financially incentivizing and socially pressuring straight couples to breed. More mindless bodies for the capitalist meat grinders.

Commitments can be lovely and wonderful. Why was the government EVER involved? Because the bible said it was important to do it one way and one way only?

It's a bit personal for me, admittedly. I don't think my parents should have had children.

The end times fascists are plotting their escape from our world. Our mission is clear

Reply in thread

Man you act like this isn’t late stage capitalism.

You act like there's nothing worth trying.

This was engineered to be like this.

Yeah, and we should make more people aware of that.

Aristocrats were on board with capitalism a long long time ago. Not once in our history has change with these problems been bloodless. You want real change with the biggest pussies in all of history?

Did I say it would be bloodless? That's the goal, but if we have to kill aggressors to save lives, we should.

Contempt to be raised like cattle not knowing everything is engineered. Ever wonder why the minimum wage is always less than livable wages in most capitalist enthusiast countries?

These are all reasons we should fight back even harder instead of rolling over for them.

Again. If you don't value life, keep it to yourself.

17-Year-Old Trans Teen Found Burned With Signs of Strangulation in Sugarcane Field

Reply in thread

He lived by it.

Wrong.

Matthew 5:44 But I say to you: Love your enemies. Do good to those who hate you. And pray for those who persecute and slander you.

And he didn't do that. Death threats in Luke 13:

"I tell you, no! But unless you repent, you too will all perish."

And in Mark:

"Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned."

And in John:

"Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life; whoever does not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God remains on him."

And in Matthew:

"But I say to you that everyone who is angry with his brother will be liable to judgment; whoever insults his brother will be liable to the council; and whoever says, ‘You fool!’ will be liable to the hell of fire."

He explicitly denied forgiveness in Matthew:

"And so I tell you, every kind of sin and slander can be forgiven, but blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven."

Telling people to fear him in Matthew 10:

"And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather fear him who can destroy both soul and body in hell."

Condoning slavery and beating slaves in Luke:

"And that servant who knew his master's will but did not get ready or act according to his will, will receive a severe beating. But the one who did not know, and did what deserved a beating, will receive a light beating."

Matthew 5:45 In this way, you shall be sons of your Father, who is in heaven. He causes his sun to rise upon the good and the bad, and he causes it to rain upon the just and the unjust.

How does one live by this bullshit? "The sun comes up. Good and bad people get rained on." So?

Matthew 5:46 For if you love those who love you, what reward will you have? Do not even tax collectors behave this way?

Matthew 10:

"“Do not think that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I have not come to bring peace, but a sword. For I have come to set a man against his father, and a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law. And a person's enemies will be those of his own household."

And you're conveniently ignoring that all of Jesus's "love" was founded on "OBEY ME OR SUFFER".

Calls for Democrats to be shot heard during Republican convention speech

We should Insist on universal human rights and the rights to be left alone to your own choices.

Right, so long as those choices aren't causing needless harm.

No one really disagrees with that.

Uh, yes they do, and they're actively killing us, hence the need for defense.

For example, I wish Kirk had stopped spreading hate while he was alive. But he didn't. Now that he is dead, he can't do that anymore. This is a good thing that potentially saved a lot of lives.

I am required to use Gmail as the email client for my school email

Reply in thread

Sure. But don't forget to take steps to prevent Google from harvesting your non-school data anyway. If using an official Gmail app, you're probably screwed; they get your location, wifi, device info, why not?

If using a web browser, be sure it's a privacy-focused one, don't sign into anything but Gmail, and sign out and close the browser completely every time to clear cached data. And Google will still scan every email with automated scrapers, potentially training their AI on your carefully written essays, etc.
