I mean, the Columbia valley grows a bunch of corn, along with a bunch of other stuff. It isn’t the miles and miles of nonstop corn of the Midwest, but it is there.

What is behind the current Lemmy meme about 4 being a private key?
Reply in thread
It’s just as arbitrary as any other number. You can pick at random, but starting with a dictionary attack of easy, non-random keys would probably be a better start.
I remember playing a game of dvd-deal or no deal, where you would pick random number from one to twenty and see if you won money. The people I was playing with were mad because I just started guessing 1, 2, 3, 4…
I told them statistically it was just as likely to be those numbers as anything else.

33,000 Boeing workers lose health care coverage
The first thing we need to do to fix healthcare in this country is to decouple health insurance from our jobs. If you lose your job you should not lose your health benefits. And no, cobra is not a substitute.

Lauren Boebert Offers To Personally Jerk Off Any Constituents She Offended
At press time, Boebert also warned her constituents that she planned to vape the entire time.
That is an amazing ending.

Vibe-Coded 'Sicarii' Ransomware Can't Be Decrypted

I bet other ransomware creators hate this. If victims can’t even get their data back by paying, more victims will stop paying across the board.

PSA: the bitwarden clients got an upgrade that makes them incompatible with vaultwarden
I found this comment on what happened by dani-garcia, one of the main devs:
The short version is that around 8-ish years ago, Bitwarden changed the way the vault items were structured, and Vaultwarden added some backwards compatibility fields to ensure both old and new versions of the clients worked.
These backwards compatibility fields were supposed to be a temporary measure, but for at least the next three years the clients still required them, until we eventually forgot to keep track of them. At some point between 2021 and today, the clients stopped requiring these backwards compatibility fields, but Vaultwarden was still sending them.
This wasn't a problem until Bitwarden decided to use the backwards compatibility fields in a completely different way, which caused the clients to crash.

OpenWrt, now 20 years old, is crafting its own future-proof reference hardware
I still have my WRT54G around somewhere. Loved that thing. What I found interesting was that when the firmware went open demand for that model went through the roof. Wish more companies would realize that there is a demand for that market.

It says “Simon’s desk” which is the name of the guy making the post, which to me says he was testing the software from his desk.
When it is deployed, it would say “vaping detected in north stairwell” or whatever. They are not installing sensors on every desk.

Or buy it on physical media. More and more studios are pulling their disks and it is getting harder to find. If you have a disk, it can never be recalled.

The guy is wrong. Dragons have 6 limbs, 4 legs and 2 wings on their backs. Like angels. What the commentator is describing is Wyverns.

These are part of their own family of invertebrates.

Insects are a specific family that have 6 legs. So a bee or an ant are insects but a spider or a rolls polly is not.

Video game actors speak out after union announces AI voice deal
This is one sector where I am actually happy for AI to be available. I want to play a game where the NPC's can say my character name.
That being said, I also want the voice actors to be compensated fairly. Maybe the guilds can set up a deal where using someone's voice for training data is included.

You could build a campaign around that. Some village in an oasis is just torturing some reborn they caught and use the endless water to feed the well. Get enough water and there could be some climate change.
