I heard the admins of lemmy.world were investigating claims about a prominent member in order to form a verdict and I would like to offer myself as witness and someone to call to the stand to question

And no, I am not alt of anyone here, so I'm not just trying to inflate the numbers of the defense. The admins of lemm.ee can attest to this if they have my IP address, as admins in the days of old forums used to have (I would be really, really surprised if they didn't and couldn't provide it). Neither do I use a VPN. I am too poor for those. That hasn't, however, stopped me from being dragged into this mess for good by the peoples' infamous chancellor Davel, who it seems isn't new to doxxing either (though the random lying is new, if that is to be believed), or LGBT-phobia, which I would like to expose because me and the subject previously discussed the suicide of someone else who recently was dragged into this mess, all because people didn't like that they, too, were defending (which they expressed with empathy towards his transphobic boyfriend), so as long as everyone wants to expose LGBT-phobes.

It disheartens me this is the info I will be starting with, assuming I get to be questioned. As someone who is LGBT, would I be wrong in saying people potentially have blood on your hands here (it should be noted people have been asking everyone to defederate from lemmy.ml for a long, long time, and there were many chances for everyone to do so, and if there's anyone here I feel uncomfortable around, it's Davel and the people he is now helping)? Ironically this person who died was someone the accusers didn't mind using to attack ShinigamiOokamiRyuu when it suited them (and still suits them as long as people aren't smart enough analyze things, which is why those who get dragged in use so many links that Ganondorf would be scared) when it made them look bad, with nobody wanting to acknowledge they forgave ShinigamiOokamiRyuu until they died from transphobia at the hands of the same accusers, who were censoring him for defending ShinigamiOokamiRyuu and siding with the transphobic boyfriend, which weighed on him because his mother recently died too. Some people totally do have blood on their hands, and these kind of impulses by the people can be manipulated to serve something undesirable.

These "exposés" come from a triad of new users (suspicious much? The second person mentions a previous alt somewhere but I forgot the name.) who have been known to engage in this smear campaign against this person, ShinigamiOokamiRyuu, all across the web, for things that happened a long time ago on websites far, far away. I actually wasn't interested in this conflict until I got dragged in and saw the death of a fellow trans person, and I certainly wouldn't want to be mixed in with these types of accusations just for talking to someone a certain way. The moral of the story seems that if you want innocent people to be accused of things, accuse them of being people who are already accused of things. Then it's alright, right? Right? People who actually ethically analyze what is going on will be bothered by this, and someone mentioned @[email protected] had told @[email protected] at one point that the best thing to do is to leave these matters up to the people in charge, but clearly this hasn't helped anyone except those willing to take advantage of that.

ask·[Moved to Piefed] AskbyShiverMeTimbers

Have you ever used any of the alternative methods of verifying yourself before? Either intentionally or accidentally? What were they?

If this sounds like an oddly specific question, let me explain.

I was in a Taylor Swift group and was asked to use the "selfie introduction" section to introduce myself. The idea of "selfie equals authentic person" seems to be hardwired into cultural consciousness. Not only are there ways someone might be able to fool that notion (with it going both ways, with people who took all the steps often being considered inauthentic anyways), but there are other ways to verify oneself. At least ten in fact, when I look them up (that always seems to come up first). Have you used any of these? Have you used any other ones? What have you done that hinted at your authenticity in an unconventional way?

What crossovers have you fantasized about?

And why is there always such a hesitancy for crossovers?

I’ve been inspired to ask this because the 2020’s seem to be the culmination of sequel-mania. There’s a Harry Potter remake series coming out. There was a Pokémon anime sequel that just wrapped up. Lord of the Rings made a prequel series. There’s even a third Avatar series coming out soon (the sequel to Korra).

I would really like some crossovers once in a while. It’s always nice to see the official way in which two universes relate to each other. Yet there is always a high hesitancy when it comes to crossovers, and none of the biggest franchises (Harry Potter, Pokémon, Star Wars, etc.) ever engage in crossovers. Maybe this is my Rick and Morty brain talking, but all these big things going on right now with franchises has fueled my love of crossovers. Imagine, for example, the Avatar after Korra learning that the world of Avatar shares a spirit world with the world of Pokémon, or that Professor Oak replaced Professor Snape after he did.

There is so much potential, why the hesitancy? If you could push an idea, what would it be? How would you shoehorn it?

Does anyone know what last wishes James Harrison might have had for those he saved?

James Harrison, who held the world record for the highest number of blood donations, has died at 88 years old.

His blood had a rare property that gave it the power to help babies with certain diseases. Two and a half million people owe their lives to him.

I don't know if he saved my life, but seeing that he passed away, my first reaction is to ask "what would he have wanted us to do in return?"

If he is the reason 0.05% of the world is alive today, it shouldn't be outside the realm of things to imbue some kind of authority in him.

After a lot of looking, some point out that based on his character and interactions, his last wishes seem to be to be kind, trusting, understanding, and forgiving if there is even the smallest reason to be. But I'm wondering if anyone here has any knowledge I don't.

I'm not religious in the slightest, but my god, if there's a Heaven, I hope he's sitting right next to Jesus.
