Stop installing urban honeybee hives
Yes, if you want to do something positive for bees then the best thing you can do is plant native and diverse flowers. I admit, I have one honeybee hive in my backyard because of my fascination with bees sense I was a child. I have planted a bunch of different flowers around my property and it definitely is not just beneficial to the honeybee, but a whole host of different species of native bees. I enjoy seeing all the different types big and small in my garden.
Imo the craze about saving the honeybee because of colony collapse disorder is because of the commercial management of honeybee. Wild honeybee colonies have survived varroa and have/will eventually select qualities to sustain survival. Commercial beekeeping does little for natural selection and I fear that because of that we will never see the end of varroa.
Honeybees do not need us to survive. They do a pretty damn good job of doing that on their own. We just need to give honeybees and native bees a more diverse and more abundant resource of pollen and nectar.

Scientists found the missing nutrients bees need — Colonies grew 15-fold

A healthy hive would get proper nutrients. Usually you only need to feed a hive pollen when it is a weaker hive that doesn't have the population needed to collect pollen. This boosts brood production and the hive can recover faster.
Another issue is commercial beekeeping. Hundreds of hives could be working a few square miles while in nature it would be just a few. Not enough resources for that many hives so weaker hives struggle. This is a human solution for a human problem.

Yeah, wasps are hardy a nuisance unless you're close to their nest. Hornets on the other hand go out of their way to ruin my day.

Anti-Trump groups urge holiday boycott of Amazon, Home Depot, Target over DEI backtrack

I checked a local store that said they closed their doors to the public and online orders only. Ok, I thought. I'll just order what I want and swing by. No. The order link sent me to Amazon and they only do it through them. Not even will-call it turns out. I gave up and figured I can live without it anyway.

That almost happened at my workplace. 6 new microwaves and the locks threw everyone off. I found the right sequence to disable it or I'm sure a door would have been ripped off by now.

Do you change your sheets every day? It's your own bacteria anyway. As long as you're not sharing the towel it's fine for multiple days. A fresh one is just wasting time and water on laundry.

On Monday, I lost my dog
I'm so sorry for your loss. I know all too well the pain. I lost my 15 year old pup last month and I still struggle some days. For her age she was in good health so it was unbelievable going for a nice walk in the park early morning to driving to the vet hours later and then driving home alone. I'm still in a bit of shock.
