I could put together a list of instrumental house music that I find uplifting, but not sure if that's the sort of thing you want?

AI is all about overcoming the costs of things, whether that's money, time, effort, knowledge, whatever. But it has no concept of the value of those things.

So, yeah, if someone just wants a clinically well mixed set of tunes, then AI can probably splodge that out. And for some people that'll be enough.

But it'll have none of the humanity, deep understanding and appreciation, instinct, surprise or love of a real DJ.

I remember reading something along the lines of, "The point of doing a puzzle isn't to have a solved puzzle. It's to enjoy the action of solving it". AI can do the former for someone, but not the latter.

I've never listened to a GYBE record, but I did see them live once and it was incredible (and incredibly LOUD). I really should check out their recorded stuff, but I have this sense that it just might not match up to that night 😁

Totally agree. At a certain point, simply calling out slop (deserved though it is) just becomes part of the background noise because it's so commonplace.

We is amazing! Read it recently, alongside Swastika Night, which is very different, but similarly dystopian.

The API changes. I use Sync, and not being able to use Sync made Reddit more or less unusable for me on my phone. I also fundamentally disagreed with the direction Reddit was going. So, Lemmy it was, and it's great. And now there's Sync for Lemmy, which is even better!
