Check out Endeavor OS. I've been using it for about 3 months now as a full replacement to my old windows 11 set up.. everything I've needed it to do, with the exception of a few games has worked either right out of box or with minor tweaks. The forums are active and the Arch Wiki has answers to nearly every question you may have about the backbone of the OS. System updates are incredibly easy and are done on your schedule, not Microsoft's.

Yeah that's the beauty of it isn't it.. a lot of distros and desktop environments to choose from; there is a flavor for anyone!

For anyone switching from windows I recommend KDE Plasma as it'll feel closest to what you are used to.

Fromsoft bosses are ALWAYS incredibly fair. They may require practice but you can absolutely learn every boss and master them.

They are tho.. like literally designed to be challenging but with perseverance, overcame.

+1 for Endeavor. Started daily driving it for about 3 months now and it's incredible.

Some of the minor tweaks I need to make really bring me back to the early days of learning PC and trouble shooting (but with actually solutions / outcomes this time and not just a brick wall at the end).

That being said nearly everything has just worked out of the box. Plus with timelapse (timeshift? I forget the name) you can basically be sure that you won't brick the system if you mess anything up.
