F.B.I. Is Asked to Arrest Texas Democrats in Battle Over House Seats
If they do this we'll be in a whole new territory of fucked. Returning political opponents to pass a political bill to subvert the fairness of an election for the presidents agenda.

Improving the Fediverse to allow it to actually take over the social media space.
Reply in thread
Because social media is controlled by big corporations and thats why they are such shit. Once Reddit, Twitter and Facebook falls and if it falls to the fediverse it will be controlled by the average joe not political money motivated operatives

Putting ads for old.Lemmy.world on reddit would make this site perfect.
Reply in thread
Reddit started in 2005 and actually used bots to give the illusion of activity before it got big, it was a place for communities to have a hub and explore others when nothing like it had existed. Lemmy doesn't have that luxury people who don't like reddit for 1 reason or another will go to Lemmy if they know it exists.

Tesla share plunge amid Trump feud wipes $152bn off Elon Musk’s company
The rich pretend they're all powerful but really they have a much less secure money source. Where as we know our money is ours the rich can lose everything like that. Elon could go broke in a single day he's on his way out of the billionaire club because now everyone hates him

Voicemail should be banned
I prefer voice mail, If it's important enough send it, if you're not a contact and there's no caller ID I'm not picking up, I'm not screening your call I don't want you to know I saw the call.
If you're a contact and I miss you send a text

Would you support this amendment to switch our electoral system to proportional represenaton?
Reply in thread
75% of States would have to approve the amendment. Most of the constitutions don't have the type of election system in them. Switching to only one chamber would be the biggest change but most are redundant

Are anti-Lemmy sentiments being botted?

People are ready for alternatives to Reddit, Twitter, Facebook... Can a community on reddit shutdown, and seamlessly transfer to lemmy within a few days while archiving the subreddits history? Will the new Lemmy be hands off moderation at the site level so that conversation can be had? If you can give people a yes to both people will join.
