@amcjen @proxmox I’m generally NOT in favor of whatever slop we are doing with LLMs, but as TOOLS to assist us in expanding our knowledge, and skills, I’m fine.

I’m not having the agents do the work FOR me. They ASSIST me, because they both will still confidently give wrong answers, forget stuff, and go down rabbit holes.

@masinko Both #LinuxMint and #Manjaro run great on my Early 2013 MacBook Pro. The only issue I have is that it will occasionally wake from sleep and kill the battery. There is a published fix, but it makes it so you have to press the power button to wake from sleep, and sometimes waking is VERY slow for me.

#OpenSUSE didn’t come with #WiFi drivers, so 🤷🏾‍♂️

@jennraeross Agreed. I was seduced by the GNOME tiling extension and switched to Manjaro, but otherwise I’d have stayed on Mint.

@poprox @amcjen @proxmox And the technology of these tools is nearly at the level where the ordinary person could set up their own self-hosted services environment, complete with locally-administered LLM, and stop using Big Tech services altogether.

That’s what MY dream is.
