What’s your ultimate unpopular opinion?
Becoming a parent is not a right, it is a privilege (I guess). You need a license to get married, drive, hunt or fish, your dog needs one. There should be some sort of class and background check you must pass before being allowed to procreate. Just the basics like: this is the level of care and support this small helpless mammal needs to be healthy and grow to maturity. This is how much, minimum, that quality upbringing will cost and do you meet that bare minimum level of competence and income to raise a healthy baby.

out of the loop, what's the problem with signal?
I am under the impression that Signal encrypts metadata so that is useless to sell. The only thing they can turn over to law enforcement after a lawful warrant is the phone number an account was opened with (and maybe the date that happened) and the date of the last time the account was used. That is all.

Is it safe to travel with your phone right now?
I carry a second phone with nothing on it but pictures taken with my "real" phone and some GPS/Travel apps to look "legit." Some might think it a bit of a PITA but I bulk edit the EXIF data of photos to say they were taken with the "decoy" phone before transferring them over. Granted, I only cross the border between US/Canada and US/Mexico and turn off and hide my "real" phone before entering the border queue. It has only been an issue once and they took the decoy away for all of 15 minutes while I waited in my truck and then brought it back and said "Thank you for your cooperation, have a nice day" and then I immediately factory reset then wiped it again and installed LineageOS to clear any spyware they might have put on it.

Should I be excited about Ladybird Browser ?
I am paying attention to both Ladybird and Servo but am not yet "excited" about either. I am hoping they both continue to improve and become more usable (for me - YMMV) but do not expect the possibility of Daily Driver usage (again, for my use model) for at least another year.

If it looks like a cop, drives a car like a cop and knows how to talk like a cop to get into a Minnesota house "guarded" by cops then it is not "an impersonator" it is a cop

Automakers Are Sharing Consumers’ Driving Behavior With Insurance Companies
Kinda like those who choose to be in the Progressive Insurance "Snapshot" program where you install an OBD2 dongle that reports a lot of data about your driving habits back to Progressive in the dim chance you drive so well that they will lower your rates.
