That's Yuki, a ringed seal at the Osaka Aquarium. Known to take this squished sea potato pose, so they sell plushies of that at the aquarium, which is what's in the post.

Framework wants to fix the budget laptop with its first touchscreen machine
I have been waiting for something like this from framework for ages now, super pumped to order one.
Specs are a bit disappointing, so here's hoping it gets a bit beefier cpu option in the future

Boeing allegedly overcharged the military 8,000% for airplane soap dispensers

The COTS unit shown there is not tested and certified to the contract requirements Boeing was working to. Simple as. If the price ridiculous? Absolutely yes. But you cannot go to a home hardware store and slap one in a plane.

High-torque bike motor blows open US ebike performance
With the power these amflow units put out, they aren't bikes. They're more e-moto with Pedals that act as a thumb throttle.
So this market didn't need to be "broken open". People will be out there with their e-motos in places where they aren't allowed, and will end up in more access being closed off to bikers in general.

[der8auer EN] 12VHPWR on RTX 5090 is Extremely Concerning

It has always confused me why they dont use an existing standard like an XT90 as the connector. Two chunky 12v leads that can carry the power needed.

I dont need much in a laptop, it would be replacing my Lenovo x220t thats really starting to show its age now. So even a 13th gen is a vast improvement, I was just hoping for a more efficient chip for battery life, or a higher performing one so it'll last as long as possible, since I try to keep hardware for as long as possible

Even households earning $150,000 a year are struggling with credit card and car payments

In HCOL areas, 150k/yr can be barely above poverty level. (See SF as an example, poverty income for a single earner is ~118k USD)
Given the number of those kind of areas, and the cost of rent now, it makes perfect sense.

Why Balcony Solar Panels Haven’t Taken Off in the US
I just took portable ones and ziptied them to my balcony connected to a solar generator. Works to feed all my electronics and server equipment. It only connects to the grid if its depleted, never feeds power back in.
So you can still do this in the states, so long as you're not feeding into the grid.

As a G6 and xdrip user, this absolutely mirrors my experience, and MANY of my frustrations. The fact dexcom's app won't give me a delta between current and last reading to understand how quickly im trending? Insanity - and they show no interest in making it better in any way, which really grinds my gears every time I give them money.

Right there with you. Spent about 45$ on an Aurora, got a free Mustang, and did a CCU into a nomad. I'm not upset with the money I spent on the game. Gotten way more out of it just vibing in universe, flying over each new planet at they add it.
I doubt it'll ever launch though. Those who have invested thousands of dollars into it are bound to be salty when the towel is thrown in.

Forget Netflix, Volkswagen locks horsepower behind paid subscription
Give it a few weeks and some eastern European wizard will find a way to unlock it with ease and make it available to the masses
Personally i just drill holes in my ECU to install weatherproof connections to the BDM port so I can fiddle around with it myself in WinOLS. quite the learning curve though.

The lack of "features" IS the selling point. It does only what a smartwatch should, its not another phone on your wrist but rather just a device that informs you what's going on with the phone you're already carrying and lets you do some limited control of the phone from your wrist, and lasts forever between charges, as a smartwatch should.

Spotify’s HiFi add-on could cost an extra $5 per month
Spotify is absolutely the best advertising that competing services like Tidal could ask for. For the same cost as current Spotify (11$/mo) you can pump to Tidal for the same cost and get HiFi already! Bonus addition: you loose the superfluous non-music content that's slowly taking over at Spotify.
